The Royal Family, and their supporters don't care.

Even lots of their supporters seem to think its daft to cancel the footy and other events, just a really over the top daft thing to do

The problem you've got, is because no criticality, or any honest assessment is allowed by our establishment, they just trip over themselves to try and do the most ridiculous thing to show how much they love the Queen. Obviously the ordinary plebs, who keep the country going are a mere afterthought in all of this.

The Royal Family are so out of touch, they just see it as normal.

It's worse than North Korea. It's like 1984 all over.

Never worked - she gave her whole life to public service. I think (it used to be from a few years ago) the cost of the royal family compared to the income from the royal estate (mainly from tourism) was far less value to UK. She made more money for this country in this respect than you and I will probably ever do.

Her kind of public service wasn't work! Ferried around in a Rolls Royce to cut a ribbon and receive applause? Before being ferried back to one of her castles and spoon fed off the crown jewels?

And, in case you weren't aware, there are a tonne of sites in France and Italy and across the world thay attract tourists in their millions without having a living monarch in them sponging off the rest of us.

Have you ever not stopped to think what entitled her to that life of privilege? What entitles the Royals to live a life of unparalleled luxury whilst millions in this country are on the bread line?

No she didn't mate.

She was a massive drain in resources, and us giving her loads of money meant others ended up dying as a result. She also used it to bail out her nonce of a son. I'm sure that will make all the apologists proud though, as it's not peadophilia if the Royals do it.

Driving home last night and every radio station was parping on about it. So Pulled over, found a random thrash metal mix on Spotify and hooked the phone up via Bluetooth.

Bit of Carcass, Sepultura, Metallica, Obituray, Soulfly etc. Far more relaxing journey.

Of course the day is ruined before it even starts but make the best of our National misery if you wish.

Sorry if this has been answered elsewhere but was the cancellation of events all been due to “showing respect” or has some of it been due to police staffing?

Can imagine there are further demands on their resources (particularly in London) that might make staffing large events like football matches logistically challenging.

I dont think they are personally. In fact, I am sometimes surprised at how "in touch" they can appear to be. I mean, they have never lived in a crappy flat, nor had to worry about the bills, but they are either brilliant actors, or they at least try to get what normal folk go through. (most folk they meet are normal people).

That said, I thought The Kings speech earlier was a pretty decent debut.

Wouldn’t bother engaging mate. There’s swarms of gullible serfs all around us. Swamped by them. Had to take a step back and just watch on as the country embarrass itself. Again.

I’m simply responding to the comment on not working, as in she never had a choice what she got born into. It’s an amazing life no doubt but one I’m she wished she had a day from being at the centre of attention.
