Henry on sky

Behave lad.

He'll be remembered as one of the greatest forwards of all time, no hand ball against a no-mark team like Ireland will change that.

Don't be a [Poor language removed]. The very foundation of the English game is fairness and sportsmanship. Elsewhere he will be unblemished but undoubtedly on these & Irish shores he will be tarnished somewhat by a completely awful piece of play.

Doesn't matter that Ireland would've got f**ked everywhere.

Its amazing how many times it happens.
First thing you think about when Rivaldo is mentioned? For me, its the hands to the face rolling around on the floor.
First thing you think about when Maradonna is mentioned? Handball?
Suarez... well that's tricky due to the sheer number of cheats, could be multiple choice but outside of England will likely be the handball against Ghana
Zidane... Awesome headbutt

Whereas Bergkamp's first thought for me is about that amzing goal he controls on the volley, lobs the defender then hits it again on the volley.
If you don't do something embarassingly out of order, and then not feel bad about doing it, then you get remembered on merit, otherwise you run a real risk of being remembered most for a single infamous moment.

As always The Bard puts it best.

Marc Antony giving the oration at the funeral of Julius Caesar.

"The evil that me do lives after them......the good is oft interred with their bones.....".....:(

One of the best ever strikers to play in England, but ruined his legacy totally with one moment of stupidity against Ireland.

A stellar career, yet he'll be remembered as a cheat. Massive shame.

i'll remember him as one of the greatest strikers of the prem league era - Best XI material. i'm sure a lot of others won't though

defenders only get remembered by mistakes as opposed to the good things they do. sadly distin will probably be most remembered in his everton career for that back pass. same as heskey and bramble are always reouned for their cock-ups as opposed to anything good they do.

Paul robinson and scott carson the same, it's just common nature.

suarez will be remembered more for being a racist than that hand ball i reckon

I can understand the Irish having a cob on with Thierry Henry.....but then they turn round and welcome that bugger Keane back into the fold after the way he left them in the lurch in Sapporo.

IMO what he did was a worse infamy than anything Henry did.

Always remember that wild tackle that came out of nowhere in the final minutes of a game at GP that just seemed really out of context. Apart from that and the Ireland incident, he was great to watch.

Lol @ Ireland.

Shame it was France though, couldn't really enjoy it that much.

Apparently he's a tremendous bellend though. Really arrogant, refusing to sign stuff for kids etc.

Stupidly good player however.

Awsome player. Virtually unstoppable at his peak and one of the most elegant sights in football. Sh1t off a shovel but seemingly effortless.

Easily one of the best prem players ever, always enjoyed watching him play. Good to hear someone has noticed as most of the media havent even noticed how well we are playing i dont think, or maybe i listen to Talk Sport too much

Very skilful player yet that was not enough, he would anything to get the result - without doubt a disgraceful cheat and all the pundits backed away from tackling him.

I'm sorry but I actually couldn't give two hoots about his handball against Ireland. Was a joy to watch him, berkamp, Pires and co during the hey day yrs in the PL. The chip goal against utd and weirdly the one when bartez screws his kick out right to Henry's feet are the first things I remember about him.

Suarez or others had done it prob would of felt different about the handball. For some reason hasn't really changed my opinion of Henry whatsoever. Maybe he was that good and looks so inocent you kind of give him the benifit of doubt.

I don't think about either of those incidents when Suarez comes into my head. His faking extreme agony when diving and his crippling fouls dominate my thoughts.

His brilliants skills are an afterthought. Literally. I only just thought of that.
