Talks with Middlesbrough have gone differently it would seem. But, and I think it probably can't be stressed enough, that was our opening offer.

Appreciate that, but A) Boro aren’t going to agree to discussions without indicating what the price will be, B) we shouldn’t be engaging without an agreement in principle for the transfer fee.
Anything else just looks a bit amateurish, and leads to headlines like we’ve seen. Even if not direct discussions, we should be speaking to agents acting on the clubs behalf.
We can agree all we want with the player, but it’s irrelevant if Boro think we’re taking the urine.

Brisan is right, we’ve agreed everything with his agent, he goes back to Boro and says his client has agreed to join Everton and you need to get round the table and agree a deal. End of story

Yeah there was no rejected Ipswich bid for him in January mate.

That’s correct they were close to a deal last summer at around 18mil, he now has a year less on his deal

Are we talking if the same Moyes that insists on Jake at RB, Rohl at RW, Branthwaite at LB upon returning from injury, and that sticks with Keane and Tark while yielding goals for fun? That Moyes it a different one?

Use him as part of the deal for Hackney, up the offer and let them loan Armstrong for a year.
