Transfer Rumour Hayden Hackney

They are basing it on the Gordon fee which is wrong tbh. Gordon has more of an end product, has scored goals in the CL, and has won silverware. I think his fee was a lot tbh, Illy I can see being more £60-70m which is still good money imo.
It's good old fashioned British tax. Gordon is a limited footballer. He's a runner who is excellent at pressing even if it's winning back a ball that he originally gave away.

He pads those stats. I think from his 17 goals in all competitions last season, 9 of those were penalties and 4 of his Champions League goals were against what looked like part time plumbers. Didn't Harvey Barnes score more goals than him?

Gordon only scored something like 3 goals from open play in the league last season and struggled the season before in that regard.

£70 million for him is comical but he's young, pacey, very fit and runs around a lot which is basically prime time footballer in the modern game hence why the football is sh1te.

Ndaiye is probably worth around £55-£60 million at a push when not compared with any other over inflated valuations for footballers like Gordon.

Saints with dibling all over again.

Kick up a big fuss, leak everything to the press in hopes of drumming up more intrest in the player and get a bidding war going on.

Lads got a year left and wants out. Hes leaving this summer.

For everton to be in for him like this hes obviously decided he wants to come to us. So now we just have to sit back and wait till Middlesbrough cave.

Hes going to be a squad player here anyway so theres no rush on our end for him to come in.

There will be when it's 10am on 1st September and we've wasted 9 weeks trying to sign him then 3 going down the 'list' of which all have turned us down only to return back to him on deadline day and we're throwing £35m+ at Middlesbrough for him.

I’m sure no one criticising the club for putting in a low bid have ever criticised the club for wasting money.
Laughable thread
It’s not even reported how much we offered and how much they want for him

If they want 15 and we offered 12 it would still have been KNOCKED BACK in big yellow headlines on Sky and then tomorrow we might offer 15 and the deals done 🤷🏻‍♂️

I for one am glad we’re not acting like the last time we had money to spend and signing Rooney, Sigurdsson, Klaasen and Vlasic with no plan for big money

Think you're underestimating Gordon a bit there. Whenever I've watched play v City, Arsenal, Liverpool and Utd in the last few years he's always been one of the best players on the pitch and caused them lots of problems.

Yes, they are polar opposite things.

Like I say, I’m sure no one complains about both.
People will always complain, they will scratch at anything to find fault.

If they accepted straight away, we've overspent. If they turn it down we've scrimped and blown our chance.
If it all comes to fruition by the end of next week, than his resale value has just dropped because of his increased age.

There will Always be something to jump on.

The simple fact we've made the move early should be a positive in peoples eyes.

This lad isnt going to be our first team player.

Hes being brought in as a squad option.

Middlesbrough can play johnny big balls now all they want. But the closer it gets to the start of the season and their sat there with no money off a sale, a upset player who wants to go with a year left on his contract.

They'll want to sell.

Teams in the championship cant afford to let players leave on a free and they also cant be seen as a team that doesnt let the player move to the PL when they get a chance.

Be amazed if he ends up here now, we’ve dicked about yet again by the looks of it, always kinda felt like boro were fishing for other offers and getting an auction going.

If we were a serious football club we would have had this done and dusted, first thing was should have known spoiled be taxi in a royal blue jersey.

Nevermind, crack on with bolloxing up the moves for that new rb now Angus lad, as obvs we can only manage to think about and try and do one transfer at a time.
