Transfer Rumour Hayden Hackney

More young players should have been played, especially in the last match (at the very least).

But far too many people believe that the only difference between the U21 players and other young, successful players is opportunity. Which just isn't the case. They place far too much value in success in the U21 squad, the U21 league doesn't compare well to League football. Graham specifically should probably get a run in the preseason, go out on loan and keep improving.
Preach!

Lol the season only finished a week ago and the window doesn't formally open until 15th June. How immediate do you want?

Got 5 goals and 8 assists this year playing predominantly defensive midfield, with the Captains armband. Players develop at different rates. Boiling it down to stats means nothing here, sorry

I agree that this doesn't seem to be a priority position. On the other hand we don't know what plans the club has for Tim and Gana. This may be an opportunity to turn over some profit from an FFP perspective whilst improving the quality of the squad, if not the starting XI.

He might be good, but the word that the club doesn't see him as a starter sort of underlines what's being said about that being an ok-to-good area of the pitch for us right now...certainly would be much better if we had a manager who knew wtf he was trying to blend there, for sure.

It looks like stockpiling there and neglecting elsewhere - and all for a player who's not a no-brainer to bring in.

Utterly daft. The club transfer committee look like they're working on an impulse.

That when all was said and done and the final match played we finished 8 places below them in their joint worst season in a decade and that Moyes oversaw that shambles after having spent £110M and had an extra 12,000 home supporters behind the team.
And their manager was sacked for it.

Can't see the reported fee being accurate 18-20 seems more accurate. It's not the right back we were all clamouring for but I reckon this one will get done in the next week or so, we've been trailing him for a long time and obviously put the leg work in to show him how much we want him. Sounds like he's keen his side. Just whether we've stole a march on other teams or if Boro try and smoke out rivals for his signature..

To be honest I think anything over £15m is a bit steep for a 24 year old who's never played above the championship and has one year left on his contract so the more recent reports make a lot more sense to me. They accepted £15m potentially rising to £20m last year from Ipswich and no PL clubs matched it, it would be very weird if they were suddenly willing to pay more than that now.
