Unless there is some sort of exit clause I can’t see it. Other clubs would surely go up to 15 or more easily on the open market.Be shocked if it’s 10 million. That’s is really low.

We might, but realistically that applies more to the likes of Dibling and George than it does to someone like Graham. I would like to think Graham can make it here but most of the people i've spoken to who've watched a fair bit of him have said he was nowhere near first team level last year. On that basis comparing him to someone like Ngumoha - who quite clearly is first team level, and would arguably be one of our best players already - is daft. Not sure, let me know if you hear anything. But, we might have finished closer to them/above them had we used our squad and in particular our young players better.
Yes. Pretty abysmal end to the year. That when all was said and done and the final match played we finished 8 places below them in their joint worst season in a decade and that Moyes oversaw that shambles after having spent £110M and had an extra 12,000 home supporters behind the team.
If you look at Graham in isolation, but the point @RomanReigns was making was about young players more generally I think. We might, but realistically that applies more to the likes of Dibling and George than it does to someone like Graham. Good question, can't say for certain. In general I think Moyes' type of management is better suited to players coming up from the Championship than it is players brought across from top division sides on the continent. Benrahma was a big player for him at West Ham, very Moyes coded signing.
Anyway that's a different convo isn't it. The general point you were making was that this geezer can't be good because (i) none of the big teams are after him; and (ii) he's still playing in the Championship at age 23. My point in return is that football development isn't that simple. Plenty of Diamonds in the rough down there. I can give you umpteen players who were kicking about in the Championship in the last 3 or 4 years who would walk into our team right now. Josh Kelly, DJ Ed Spence, Gyokeres, Ian Maatsen, all playing Championship footy in their early 20s.
Personally think £15m for 23 y/o Championship player of the season is good bit of business. Not everyone we sign can be a glaringly obvious £40m superstar in the making or tailor made prem ready go getter. Equally not every signing we make can be £10-£20m gamble from Championship or abroad. So long as we do a bit of both when building the squad, all you can ask for
I don't think they are struggling to sell him. What gives you that impression? My point was a lot simpler than that: WTF are they doing spending cash on another bench warmer in a position we are relatively well off in when the necessity is FBs and CFs?
The fact he's 23 means nothing to me; the fact that he's not been taken immediately and Boro are struggling to sell him sets a few alarms bells.
Stats-wise: at Championship and League Two level he's played 5 seasons and scored 13 and assisted 16 goals.
That's not exactly ripping it up even down there. The PL clubs have maybe swerved this lad for a reason?
It'll be Wan-Bissaka.I am not saying that we shouldn't be signing other needed players/positions when we get the chance, of course we should, I am saying that positions like right back have been a known problem and priority since last season and they should have been searching ever since then so they would be good to go as soon as the season ended and the window opens on the 15th. Unless they hibernate when the window closes until the next window.
Maybe they already have and we just haven't heard about it. No rumours though as far as i know.
It all stems down to me having no faith in them whatsoever tbf. I mean looking at Dibling, this lad will be lucky to even get a game with Moyes anyway. Not old enough.![]()
And so was my reply. The young players who make it as far as Liverpool's first team tend to be good. They have lots of money and resources, and so only tend to add academy graduates (or people they've bought young)to their squad when they're genuinely good enough to hold their own. We on the other hand have often used our academy graduates to plug holes in the squad when really they're nowhere near ready to play at the top level. When we have players who are good enough to play for the first team, not only do we support them but we generally go massively overboard about how good they are and start calling for them to get England call ups every time they put back to back 7/10 games together. If you look at Graham in isolation, but the point @RomanReigns was making was about young players more generally I think.
Lol the season only finished a week ago and the window doesn't formally open until 15th June. How immediate do you want?My point was a lot simpler than that: WTF are they doing spending cash on another bench warmer in a position we are relatively well off in when the necessity is FBs and CFs?

Can we compare and contrast this with Iroegbunam last 5 seasons. What do those numbers look like @davekLol the season only finished a week ago and the window doesn't formally open until 15th June. How immediate do you want?
Got 5 goals and 8 assists this year playing predominantly defensive midfield, with the Captains armband. Players develop at different rates. Boiling it down to stats means nothing here, sorry
I agree that this doesn't seem to be a priority position. On the other hand we don't know what plans the club has for Tim and Gana. This may be an opportunity to turn over some profit from an FFP perspective whilst improving the quality of the squad, if not the starting XI.
More young players should have been played, especially in the last match (at the very least). If you look at Graham in isolation, but the point @RomanReigns was making was about young players more generally I think.
I don't think they are struggling to sell him. What gives you that impression?
If that's truly the number, there's very little risk in buying him.Be shocked if it’s 10 million. That’s is really low.
I get the point, but lets not pretend Liverpool don't go overboard with their assessment of younger players. And so was my reply. To bring it back on topic, I think Hackney could potentially do well here but probably wouldn't get a game for Liverpool.
