Indeed, but in the US history of race "mixed" (in terms of one white and one black parent) has always meant and been treated as "black" - at least in terms of deciding what bathroom you could go in, what fountain you could drink in, where you could sit where on the bus, who you could run around with etc etc. Being lighter skinned meant that a person might avoid some of that, but never all of it.

If that is how she defines herself, I think that is how the rest of us should see it - especially when that is a large proportion of why she gets the abuse.

Good point this. Bearing in mind Harry seems to have an understandably deep rooted distrust (at least) of the tabloid press, can imagine it would be pretty infuriating for him to have to go along with playing the game of keeping them onside, and inviting them to press days for lunches, to ensure the coverage stays favourable.

Not surprising that he doesn’t wanna play that game.
