Current Affairs Harry and Meghan Part 3: I can't think of a snappy subtitle

Well catching up on this thread has certainly made my morning better.

I think the queen's statement was a little either naive or untrue. To say they didn't know the extent of what they were going through, when literally everyone knew what was happening and the grief they were getting doesn't sit right.

I think the Queen still has a good relationship with them from both the ending of her statement and what Will abd Meghan said about her.

I feel for harry though, as sounds like he has essentially lost father and is now really distant from his brother.
The important bit from the interview was Harry saying the Royals were scared of the press.

They exist as an unelected institution and the queen as an unelected head of state relies on public willingness to keep her and her family in their position. They aren't there by consent, they are they because people allow them to be and the way that is cultivated is by favourable press coverage.

They do press campaigns, back populist and nationalistic activities promoted by the press and the press give them favourable coverage by and large. It serves as a symbiotic relationship.

The Oprah interview exposed that.

Haven't found a place for AsiaAsia, Blueclouds or Tramps_Mate yet, but these positions are locked down imo

Goalkeeper: Peteblue, because he spends more of his day diverting and deflecting than Pickford did at Sunderland
Centre mid: Tubey obvs
Left Wing: Has to be the pro-Trump, pro-brexit, pro-royal, anti-immigration, anti-minority, anti-workers rights Labour supporter Arminsgod
Right Wing: Lot of competition for this position, but we'll go with Mr. White, because I've never seen him drift out of position
Centre Forward: Guru888's attacking instinct reminds me of a prime Diego Costa
No defence, which is ironic considering

Good point this. Bearing in mind Harry seems to have an understandably deep rooted distrust (at least) of the tabloid press, can imagine it would be pretty infuriating for him to have to go along with playing the game of keeping them onside, and inviting them to press days for lunches, to ensure the coverage stays favourable.

Not surprising that he doesn’t wanna play that game.

Nor her. She doesn't need it, shes not reliant on it and I think it was their way of redressing the balance and putting their perspective out to the world completely outside the UK tabloids.

If you have mental health issues, you speak to a doctor. Or a close friend. Or family (bridges burned). Or the Samaritans. She chose Oprah Winfrey. And got paid lots of money to do so.

She had a vested, financial interest to make the interview 'dramatic', so I don't trust a single word she said. No class, no dignity. She belongs on the Jeremy Kyle show.
Meghan husband does not constitute close family, she shared it with him. That's point she tried seeking support her mistake was thinking there was a process to support her with in the Royal institution However, was told nope. Just get on with it, "pull your socks up stiff upper lip we've all been through it". And all the tired boring cliche get peddle out about mental health.
Unless of course it's lockdown and the share price is taking a hit and then mental health is alright and on trend.
And of course the backdrop to all this is the "let's talk about mental health campaigns" that many of the Royals are involved in, it's all looking very shallow.

Haven't really been paying attention to this thread but even so I think I could've predicted this line up. Sort of picks itself.

Tramps_mate could be a 15 year old mascot?

I know there is a lot of competition for the left-wing but surely @davek has to boss that role with a handful of willing understudies. Unless the issue is that he is that far left that he would end up outside of the stadium?
