Im still gobsmacked he was subbed off before Gana. Certainly deserved to stay on based on comparable performance.
I couldn't watch the game today sounds like Gana is still in flip flop mode after Afcon.
He can be very casual but still gotta be a good player for Armstrong to learn from

The Gana & Garner midfield is so poor.
KDH came out to the left of the 3 2nd half and was a big factor in our overall play.
Gana was utterly dreadful all game and it should be KDH, Garner and Armstrong if were using a 3. Or KDH & Garner in a 2 but great to see Armstrong getting mins.
His driving runs were good, passing was off and he was unfortunate with a shot a yard wide.
I think Armstrong should be ahead of Gana on merit.

It’s more a case we don’t have the players rather than some genius strategy to improve a player. As well as being stubborn and not just dropping players rather for his favourites in. Armstrong CM and O’Brien CB with Patterson and a more natural right sided player would be better.

He is playing out of position but still looks good playing as a teenager in a top half premier league and doesn't look out of place. He tricked Castagne into a couple of fouls which gave us two dangerous free kicks which we didn't take advantage of and was a whisker away of scoring a great goal in the first half.
Still like him - but wasted on the wing - great upper body strength to draw fouls one good half volley that was close in the first half - Gana to me just upstairs our midfield stature as he just blocks our main asset in James Garner who seems to be pushed further back from linking our midfield as a unit imob- I think DM has a good squad who could click to get us a European place if our home form can improve hopefully HA was compared to a young Gascoine today by a Fulham co commentator with his upper body strength to easily draw fouls of opponents.

The fact Moyes is shoe-horning him/using his versatility to put him in the team ahead of more established players in their own positions speaks volumes I think. Even if he doesn't play great all the time (not an actual comment on my opinion on his performances) it's great experience/learning for him.
