2025/26 Harrison Armstrong

Let’s be realistic mate happy a young local academy kid is playing for us could we do better than having to play him out of position? As I said not expecting a young lad to set the world alight obviously he’s happy getting the minutes but as someone else has just said would be better getting them at CM in the championship. Same goes for the clown playing O’Brien RB over a RB and being stubborn not giving aznou minutes after FA cup cameo.

As a young player, you're just happy to get on the pitch regardless of the position. Didn't let us down but was difficult for him out there.

Good option to have in the squad, but maybe he'd benefit more from playing consistently at Preston. No easy answer because we all change our mind on a game by game basis.

I liked him best in the 8 when he was at Preston. Our more defensive midfielders could focus on what they did and that gave Harrison license to connect things up a bit more.

He had a couple of games with us as well where he would drift in and out, but it was usually when we played him in positions higher up, like the 10 or inside right. I think like others have said he best suits 6 or 8. We're well stocked with 6s so he fills an important role and he'd probably get a lot of minutes as an 8 with us for the rest of the season.

He's definitely got a lot of box to box potential. He's got some engine on him and can really get up and down the pitch.

Thought he did well. Second half especially. More minutes in the prem will only help him.

Long term I’d be tempted to move iregbounam on and make Armstrong next in line in CM.

Hung out to dry again today by the manager, but didn’t let anyone down.

Still can work out that starting 11.
That lineup done my nut in..

The lad will get the playing time which is good, just Moyes ain't dropping Gana anytime soon, so he's going to have to find his way into games however he can..

Still a kid though, it will be his spot soon, and for many years to come..

Already better than plenty of midfielders we could/would go out and spend £20m+ on. And they would no doubt need 18 months to settle and adjust to the PL etc etc.

Let him go back to Preston. Be part of a squad competing for something, chasing something massive.

Back in for day 1 of pre-season ready to fight for a starting place. He’s hugely important for me as we move away from the stale, Gana plus whoever else is available midfield. Not that bothered whether he is an 8, 10 or a 6.75. He looks to just be a good “midfielder”. Always knows how much time he has because he constantly scans, and when he has time, currently looks to progress the ball. The longer we wait before Evertoning that out of him the better.
