2025/26 Harrison Armstrong

These posts have been reported, without surprise as they're not about Harrison Armstrong. Do make the effort to stay on topic.

@matty1878 pack it in with the constant insults.
I think at some point something does actually have to be done about the known suspects (not sure what). They’re making the site worse for most people and they’re derailing a bunch of threads and making them unbearable.

No doubt - but again, as per recent examples - @davek comment was on topic in terms of manager comment on Harrison Armstrong. Others then started saying he should support another team, insults and bringing other managers into it - all of which has sod all to do with Harrison Armstrong.

The thing is, the said poster is very good in de-railing ANY thread into his anti- Moyes agenda.

Ultimately, people can only control their own behaviour and theres a report function.

Too many threads are off topic, there's another issue of @davek monopolsing threads which he'd do well to keep in mind but I swear he could log off for 2 weeks, and threads would still be cluttered about him.

I'm genuinely surprised at that comment Zat if you've seen Harrison play.

For me Armstrong has the potential to be the best of those 4 ( and I rate Garner and KDH highly).

Clearly he needs to develop , fulfill that potential and grow physically and mentally.

Arguably he will be ready next season, certainly the season after if he continues his current rate of development but he is on a similar level to Tim now and with a bit more strength and experience will be past him very soon.

He carries all 3 attributes a top midfielder needs.

The only thing he needs to do is carry them into the premiership. at 18 and with is mental growth, I cant see a stumbling block.

Positional sense, i'd move him back first.
Let him grasp the game with a bigger field in front of him.

Don't build the expectations up to high, and to fast.
We carry a very good centre already, so we don't need to find a player for him to replace. his progression will play that part..

I make you right on a lot of that.

1. We don't play with a 10. It's a strange hybrid position that Dyche used Doucoure in and Moyes has persisted with.
2. A true 10 is a Zola or even a Mata not many ,if any teams , play a true flair player as a 10.
3. KDH is an 8. He should definitely not be the most advanced of our midfield.
4. I'd prefer to see us play 4/3/3. Of a 3 man midfield I'd have a sitter ( perhaps next season or the year after ) Armstrong and 2 further advanced players Garner and KDH. But of course you need a squad and rotation so Tim and Rohl and at least one other will get game time.

1&2: A traditional 10 is different to what is classed as a 10 thesedays. There arent any traditional 10s in the league yet when you watch the games the player behind the CF is called a 10.

3: Not sure if others have picked this up but the reason we use KDH as the 10 is because of Grealish. Grealish slows the play down and attracts two or even three opposition players.

There needs to be a runner to go past the defence for Grealish to pick out. Ndiaye playing 10 for Sheff Utd was a different role to how we use a 10 hence why that experiment failed as he doesnt run past the opposition defence.

KDH does this as does Alcaraz. Thats why those 2 can play 10 in this system.

Why do we do this? Its so the opposition being dragged across to those two players and leave Ndiaye 1v1 on the right.

I HATE this for three reasons;

A: KDH is an 8 and has been motm or around there every game.

B: Alcaraz cant be constrained by these tactics, it doesnt suit his natural game.

C: I like quick football and it makes no sense to me to be reliant on a left winger to slow the play as a main tactic. Nor does it suit either player we use as a 10 to fit this system.

4: Yes it seems clear to me as well that we should go with a 433. Exactly as you say with Armstrong 6 & KDH + Garner ahead of him as 8s.

Super balance and with this 6 in play our midfielders should be closer to the front 3. For this system we need pace at the back with at least one of O'Brien / Branthwaite at CB.

Iroegbunam could also be an option of course, just needs to improve his passing and perhaps positioning.

Rohl i hope we sell in the summer.

Joseph, are you stalking me ?

You have your 👀 on me in an instant every time I post on this thread.

How will he make a fool of me, I've been watching a very promising player, and whatever works best in helping him fulfill that potential i am obviously all for it..

Moyes gives him proper gametime 👍
Moyes just lets him keep a seat warm 👎

( Anyway, did you like my 'get well' vids I sent you...
