2025/26 Harrison Armstrong

This chap makes good videos

Interest for me is seeing where he ends up in the midfield.

KDH, Iroegbunam & Garner is the way i see forward but Armstrong will have a big say in that.

I'm genuinely surprised at that comment Zat if you've seen Harrison play.

For me Armstrong has the potential to be the best of those 4 ( and I rate Garner and KDH highly).

Clearly he needs to develop , fulfill that potential and grow physically and mentally.

Arguably he will be ready next season, certainly the season after if he continues his current rate of development but he is on a similar level to Tim now and with a bit more strength and experience will be past him very soon.

The impressive and useful thing about Armstrong is how well rounded he is. I'm not saying this will translate to premier league level yet, but in terms of style of play/talent, he's:

A better tackler than KDH
A better passer then Iroegbunam
A better ball carrier than Garner

So depending on what you want to emphasise in midfield you can make any swap.

This is theoretical if he keeps progressing fast over the next year or so obviously, but it's interesting for squad building purposes

I think youve misconstrued my comment.

"KDH, Iroegbunam & Garner is the way i see forward but Armstrong will have a big say in that".

I'm trying to say that those 3 look like our best midfield today and going forward. However Armstong will have a big say - meaning one of them will be replaced by him.

The question is, which one?

I you probably couldnt take out a tackle machine which perhaps saves Iroegbunam and Garner is such a good all rounder.

Then KDH is putting in very good performances as an 8.

I think if KDH is used as a 10 thats where Armstrong replaces him. As KDH is no 10. I'd see Armstrong best as a 6 though so perhaps we remove the 10 all together and use him as the fulcrum.

Armstrong is not a 10.

He either a sitter or box to box

We don't play a proper 10 though, I think this where some go wrong with the Alcaraz thing. Yes on paper we have a player in that role but the way we execute our game plan that individual is not sitting there spraying the ball about looking for gaps, we allow that individual much more freedom too get around and support others and drop back into the middle which is why it suits KDH more than Alcaraz, it might work for Armstrong who knows. Id agree though I don't see him as 'proper 10' type.

I dont think hes a 10 but as I wrote he's going to be more likely to break in there if Moyes continues to use KDH as one.

He's not going to oust Garner if Garner continues playing like this & unlikely to push out KDH if hes used as an 8. Then Moyes will always use a tackler which surely will be Iroegbunam.

So unless Moyes sees sense and uses KDH as an 8 its going to be the position Armstrong could sneak into.

He’s actually all three. Great as a 6 for Derby, as an 8 for Preston and as a 10 scoring a hat trick in the FA Youth Cup. Wouldn’t be a surprise to see Moyes put him there for the last 20 minutes of a game.

Exactly, he can play all 3 positions. KDH is an 8. He's not a 6 nor a 10 so if Armstrong is to get a permanent position then that 10 role may be the one.

A 'proper 10' disappeared from the premier league some time ago.

I'd say KDH has been far worse as a 10 than he has as an 8.

If KDH & Garner were both 8s then Armstrong would find it very hard to get into the 11 when both are fully fit.

As it stands, when Moyes wants to play a 10 Armstrong has a chance there above other positions - based on those 3 as starters.

I make you right on a lot of that.

1. We don't play with a 10. It's a strange hybrid position that Dyche used Doucoure in and Moyes has persisted with.
2. A true 10 is a Zola or even a Mata not many ,if any teams , play a true flair player as a 10.
3. KDH is an 8. He should definitely not be the most advanced of our midfield.
4. I'd prefer to see us play 4/3/3. Of a 3 man midfield I'd have a sitter ( perhaps next season or the year after ) Armstrong and 2 further advanced players Garner and KDH. But of course you need a squad and rotation so Tim and Rohl and at least one other will get game time.

Don't think he's been brought back to start games unless there are players missing through injury, with the number of games coming up I'd imagine he'll get a decent number of minutes from the bench.

maybe support a different team you dyche lover

your boring everyone with the tripe you spew every day

back MOYES he’s our manager

you flump

Just to reiterate, Dave backed Benitez to the very end.

His views on managers of this football club are worth less than quite literally anyone who's ever logged into this forum

I support Everton, not a manager who walked out on Everton and insulted Everton on several occasions.

….but you supported Benitez who insulted us

These posts have been reported, without surprise as they're not about Harrison Armstrong. Do make the effort to stay on topic.

@matty1878 pack it in with the constant insults.
