….bit of a stretch suggesting all of that group ‘came through’ and had ‘more potential’ than Armstrong, I don’t think the likes of Small, Kissock & Ledson ever played a first team game for us whilst Galloway, Nkounkou and Holgate were purchased after breaking through at other clubs.

They were all lauded as the next big thing. I remember people saying Holgate was better than Stones when we sold him because he was better defensively. Ledson was supposed to be our Gerrard. People thought Galloway was a potential England player while he was here. All terrible takes based on no evidence.

Not at all. Amazes me how many people don't learn and get carried away over and over again. Anyway, time will tell. I'll continue to watch and rate him objectively based on what he does on the pitch and you all can continue to overrate him. Makes no odds.

I think based on yesterdays performance, he 100% needs to go out on loan. We hope hes a future star, hes clearly not close to that yet, which is fine. I dont think either us or him benefit from him staying here this season.

Why would you think that? I'm an Everton fan. I want him to succeed as much anyone else. I haven't said he will fail. I've just said I would need considerably more evidence than there is at the moment to think he has all of this potential people are talking about. He's just a kid at the moment being given minutes for the first team in preseason in the way the 30 odd other players I have named were. He hasn't done anything yet to make me excited though. If others have a lower bar that's fine. I remember Jose Baxter beating half of the Forest team in a pre-season game and putting it in the top corner aged about 16. He obviously didn't make it. People are just desperate for any hint of good but if I seem wham being chatted I am going to call it out.

50 might have been a stretch admittedly but a lot of those players were clearly prospects at some point in time and included in pre-season games. The point remains that he hasn't done anything to justify the amount of hype he is getting and people are chatting rubbish about the quality of his performances.

Thought he looked poor in the first 20 mins of the second half last night, kept giving the ball away which is a crime for a CM and I went to bed when we went behind.

However I’ve not seen enough of the lad to form an opinion on him, last night was certainly nothing to go by or get unreasonably excited about from what I saw.
