Happy St. George's Day

I didn't even know it was St. George's day today. It shows how unpopular it has become, I suppose.

It's a shame. We celebrate St Patrick's day like we were all born in Dublin yet most of us don't even know when St George's day is.

I seem to remember google going all green and full of shamrock on March 17th. Had to smile when I saw google's ever-so-subtle acknowledgment.

Not that I really care much. Just think it's a shame that people are banned from celebrating it. Bradford had to stop their annual St George's day parade for fear of offending 'people of other ethnicity'.

Still it's an excuse to sink a few of Yorkshire's finest. All in the name of patriotism. God bless you Timothy Taylor.

The problem was partly that the far-right adopted St. George as a symbol of their vile politics and ideology. Another problem was that many low-level politicians had their heads turned by certain trendy social theorists.

i for one have never and will never celabrate st.patrick's day, i am not irish i am english, i'll leave that to all the irish and A.W.I.'S (americans without identities). we allow all and sundry to celebrate religious and cultural events yet ban ourselves from celebrating our own identity. for me, ban all the others as well, if you want to celebrate burns night etc mr. brown then [Poor language removed] back to scotland to do so, it should be bannned here !! our flag and national identity was hijacked by the far right but by preventing us from celebrating who we are , we are pushed towards the right to regain our identity.

Hope you all had a good one girls and boys, if its anything like the green 17th you will be walking a little funny right now and have a strong urge for garlic cheese and chips!

I'm craving a big mac, which is a little worrying.

I'm also getting a new tattoo later. Wonderful.

I had too much strong IPA, got knocked out of a tournament because I overplayed top pair (drunkenly) and now I'm about to be scarred for life while nursing a stinking hangover and wishing I hadn't agreed to do anything last night.

Still... the pubs open in a couple of hours. :P

Don't celebrate either St.George or St.Patrick day and unless told wouldn't have a clue what date they are. They are meaningless days in the calender
