If England/USA ends in a draw then the most USA can get will be 5. Iran can still get 6. Wales would end up on 2

Basically, England know that a draw against USA and another against Wales and they're in the next round

I don't think that would come into it, to be honest. I think Wales could only qualify at the expense of England or Iran. If the USA won, they'd be on 5 and the Welsh couldn't catch them. If the USA drew or lost, the Welsh would be above them - but Iran would either be level or ahead of the Welsh in that event.

Iranian goal difference would be a factor, but only if they drew.
