Groundshare Debate on TalkSport Now

Ideally we could do with the Man City route. Blag the LCC into hosting the Commonwealth Games and getting a nice shiny new stadium out of it.

However we all know that even if this was likely, the LCC would have the R's in there in a hearbeat

maybe not, it does seem that way on the surface. the pinkies new stanley park ground was probably a ruse to empty the neighbourhood so bradley warrens cronies could rake in EEC grants for under-populated areas

I'm still split on the notion. I think we'd need certain guarantees about the whole thing, ie: if they do a rangers we'd still need paying co-tenants :) seriously though, I'm not entirely against the idea, but I'd much prefer a refurbished goodison. What happened to the 'football quarter'?

same thing as stanley park stadium once the grant cheque was cashed

Everton bn looking for a new site for years, but keep bn blocked from building one. they say they can't expand goodison, so what to do? the americans say they want to refurbish assfield,so
, why doesnt big bill tell the council everton wil take the stanley park site n laugh at the red****es when w havea brand spanking new stadium with space to further expand in the future, while d assfield lot stay in their ****hole.

Go on then go and share a stadium with the sh8te, dear me, i need to swerve online Evertonians i think.

Manchester United, old ground in the 60s/70s/80s - they redeveloped, one of the biggest clubs in the world.

I know Sky and modern day football want you to believe that a brand spanking soulless dome will make us return to the elite, but it wouldn't.

Stuff identity and history that made us Everton lads, let's just share with them and become their feeder club, Liverpool 2, or Merseyside FC so we have a bit of money in transfer windows.

Have to agree with Cena on this one.

Even though i personally don't think a re-development of Goodison is a viable option i would loathe sharing a ground with that lot. I understand that finance has overruled a lot of the tradition and history in football nowadays but a ground share would be completely against the great and historic rivalry our two clubs have had. Evertonians have always prided themselves on being a cut above Liverpudlians and we have always wanted people to know that WE are separate and not connected to THEM.

There comes a point for me where if we're not going to try and preserve any sort of history or tradition that we might aswell just change our name to the HSBC Toffees and rake in the sponsorship cash. I'm prepared to move on in some respects (such as moving to a whole new stadium of our own) but sharing a ground with that lot would sicken me, quite frankly.

Buying your season ticket knowing that the 'Home end' (think of the Gladwys street now) had been filled with Kopites seven days before ?

Having bipartisan names for all of the stands in the ground for fear of upsetting one set of fans ?

Having white and black seats ?

No thanks. I'd rather we play on the street. And as others have said you just know that tourism boards would label it:

The home of Liverpool FC
and Everton

I refuse to play second fiddle to them AGAIN.

If somebody brings up the San Siro as an argument again i'll fume too.

Just imagine sitting in the 'Gladwys Street' which 7 days earlier had been 'The Kop' for all intents and purposes. Imagine seeing them play at home on the TV and watching them celebrate in OUR stadium. Horrible.

Yeh but mate, think of how much money we'd rake in and how boss it would be for Stanley Park.

Coldplay & Nickelback could do concerts every summer in the ground lad

Ive never actually settled on either side on this until I just read Cena and Brennan's post.

I would loathe having them in OUR stadium.

Just wait until you see the thread about Moyes being all for it. I can see your fumes from here

I think thats more to do with the board than his actual beliefs, didn't he say during a press conference years ago something about redeveloping GP whilst all Kirkby was going on.

Anyway, i'm honestly in disbelief some Evertonians would even consider it

and moyes and neville - towing the party line and trying to kill us off by moving to kirkby. a plastic joke.

Scary thing is, LOADS of people thought Kirkby was the answer in the early days. I agree though, Moyes & Neville just saying what their overlords want them to say, without a thought for the fans
