Greek Financial Crisis

If it was controlled by Murdoch then at least it wouldn't have the veneer of respectability and authority that the BBC receives and which gives it the appearance standing outside of the fray as a 'neutral'. It isn't and never has been. It's the corner stone of the Establishment and it needs breaking up asap.
who thinks it's neutral??
Never has been. But at least you know what side it's on at the moment.

And the BBC is the centre of the British American Project to promote the interests of the US. Along with Shami Chakrabarti, Christain May IoD, Lord Charrington and Lord Robertson.

Pilger wrote about that lot a few years ago.

Doesn't surprise me that Newsnight presenters are heavily involved. Look at the next generation of their presenters: Allegra Stratton (Tory insider married to James Forsyth political editor of the right wing Spectator magazine), Chris Cooke (researcher for Tory MP David Willets and as the Pilger piece underlines involved in the British American Project); Evan Davis (as per your info and former right wing think tank member).

The media in this country are locked up and in the control of people with some very unusual and nasty points of view.

Tusk puts pressure on Germany over Greek debts
Donald Tusk’s comments on debt sustainability could be an important development, following a double-whammy of pressure from America last night.

Yesterday, International Monetary Fund MD Christine Lagarde warned that Greece is now in “a situation of acute crisis”; reforms and a “debt restructuring” are both needed to escape it.

And US Treasury secretary Jack Lew made his clearest signal yet that America believes restructuring is inevitable.

He said:

“In the next few days what we’ll see is [whether] the parties come together and build enough trust that Greece will take the actions that it needs to take so that Europe will restructure the debt in a way that is more sustainable”

The IMF had already made his point a week ago; its new Debt Sustainability Analysis showed that Greece needs “comprehensive” debt relief, with repayments delayed for decade".

I wonder how those batting for the US at the BBC, and other media outlets will spin this. Will they be banging the drum for Germany to cave in and give Greece the money? That is unless the Germans are prepared to tell the US to do one.

Apparently closer to a deal now based on the Greeks carrying out €13B reform package in return for 3 years funding and debt reduction.

The Greek people are not going to like this deal though Dave, lot of unrest ahead and I can't see how Syriza can stay in power if the deal is agreed....

Should have exited and nationalised everything.

However, we wait to see exactly what the nature of any package is. I cant believe they'd settle for a worse deal than the one 10 days ago...that's just a numb nuts presentation of this by the yellow dog media trying to sell any deal as a defeat.

Really not sure the Greeks knew what they were getting into with Syriza. Going to be a tough few years for that country.
Utter nonsense. You think the majority of Greeks dont understand this was a poison chalice taken up by Syriza after the PASOK/centre right regimes had forced them down the road of immiseration? Go and re-check the referendum result from Sunday for your answer.

http://www.naftemporiki.gr/finance/story/976680/the-greek-reform-proposals

VAT rise on most popular islands
Reform of pension supplements
Increased role of private sector
Tax evasion measures

....for the Greeks to accept the first three there the Euro Group are going to have to embrace the reality (as the IMF have done) of big debt reductions and a larger and longer funding package.

The Greeks overwhelmingly, regardless of the No/Yes camp, wanted to stay inside the eurozone. If Tsipras et al manage to get the terms more secure they'll have their compromise they can sell back home.
