Greatest Everton Striker

As a postman for fifteen years, what with our traumatic relationship with the higher hierarchy at the Royal Mail and with our douchebag Union always selling us down the river - Through the years I've been on countless 'wildcat strikes' and Official walk outs. During the mid 1990's early 2000's my personal strike rate was highly consistent and way above that of the likes of Madar, Inthe Backofnogoal and Bret Ange,l but no were near that of Gladwys Street heartthrob Francis Jeffers!!

So, I nominate myself as one of Everton's greatest strikers albeit just by association only :) mu-hahahahahaha(y)

big dunc might not have scored a lot of goals or played in a great team but before his injuries he was unplayable, awsome in fact and saved us from relegation almost single handedly. In my eyes he's our best striker since the 80's

im probably in the minority but yakubu still hasnt proved himself to me. If he scores 20 goals in the prem this season then so be it but one good season doesnt mean he's a legend

I'm not talking about legend, I'm talking about Yak being the best striker we've had since the 80s.

Ofcourse he's got to stay here and score more goals to become a legend, we'll have to wait and see whether he does that or not. But to say he hasn't proved himself is bollocks, he's proven quality and will continue to score goals whilst he is here.

Did Duncan ever score 21 goals in one season? No he didn't. Duncan was talented, Yak is on a different level.

Nothing I ever say is bollocks, its just my opinion to which im entitled so do one

But Yak has been the highest goalscorer in the prem bar Henry ever since he came to England. Not exactly a one season wonder is he? Heres his goals to games ratio in England

2003 Portsmouth (loan) 13 (7)
2003–2005 Portsmouth 78 (36)
2005–2007 Middlesbrough 103 (35)
2007– Everton 33 (26)

clive allen scored 40 goals in a season once for spurs. every season before or since he was [Poor language removed].

The same could be said of Dunc to be honest. Scored 11 goals in just two of his eleven seasons here. In the nine other seasons Dunc never matched those figures.

I think Fred Pickering deserves more credit his goals would have been a lot more except for the injury before the 66 final and although fit for the final the Cat left him out and he never recovered from it.I had a drink with once after a snooker match and he admitted as much said it was the end of his world missing that final. as for legends Dashing Dave Hickson my first ever hero takes some beating,I would have thought Roy Vernon would have been up there with Alex Young they where lethal I remember when we won the derby game 3-1 Alex floating in the air to give a delicate flick to send Roy away and no one doubted it was going to be a goal.

I remember Roy Vernon he was a poacher, with Alex young a perfect combination, But for pure entertainment skill Mckenzie and latchford were a dream, (y)

Agree that Lineker isn't a legend. But I wouldn't call him a mercenary either. The deal was done pretty much behind his back.

Striker legend status in my lifetime:

Latchford
Sharpey
Big Dunc

That is it, as far as I can remember.

Yak might get onto the list in a few years. It depends whether he becomes Everton or not.

what about sheedy always popped up with a goal when needed especially on a cold winters night in a fa cup replay against crap when no one else could kinda like cahill now scoring when needed (stoke last year or city away)
