GOT Wrestle Fest Fan Thread

Serious question for you weirdos

Why do you enjoy watching men touch each other up whilst wearing spandex in over the top gash story lines

I enjoyed it when I was 9 like

Haha, had to watch some friends because of that. Turns out Mizdow stole his current gimmick from Chandler in the opening credits...

I felt bad for the man. Apparently they knew he was going to get sh*t on but went with it anyway. Tried to bring the Rock out to get the crowd on his side and that still didn't work. If the Rock can't even get you over then it's never going to happen. I think Vince and the writing team have ruined his career. Granted the kids will love him but he'll get booed out of the building again at Wrestlemania.

Shame, but respect to him if that's true.

It seems to me that people are so Pro Daniel Bryan that he must win everything.

...

Im all for Reigns winning, if people dont like it then he can turn heel and really gain some heat.

I think the whole Reigns angle is to have him beat brock at Mania to help get him over, i have a sneaky feeling Goldberg will be back for one match given WWE love a triple threat at mania.

I wonder if him beating Brock or turning heel will even work at this point? Whether he gets pushed as a Heel or Face it seems the fans aren't interested. Agree on your first point. Yeah Bryan's massively over with the fans, does that mean he has to be made to win or look great everytime he's in the ring?

I don't dislike Reigns at all. I think there's something there, he's certainly likeable, but he's been rocket boosted to the top with no work and that's what the fans have turned on - being told what to like instead of organically rewarding hard work, good gimmicks and storytelling.

It's insulting fan intelligence. As I said, MASSIVE parallels with the pre-Attitude era product.

Surely it's happened loads of times in the past, both before, after and during the Attitude Era. Batista for one. Every 'monster' that comes in gets pushed straight to the top pretty much don't they?

The product has been bad for the majority of the last decade, but in the last two years it's sunk to depths I don't even think the most vociferous WWE critic could have imagined. The New Day superface group, the cartoon corruption of Ascension, lack of coherent story telling (why did Brie go back to Nikki? Why bother telling the audience, just middle finger them and carry on!) and so on.

Is it really that bad? Seems pretty par for the course to me. But the New Day and dropping the Bella angle are both pretty bad, but then again not something that hasn't happened many times before I thought.

none of us knew that the golden boy with 4 moves would win the rumble.

But Hogan/The Rock/Cena didn't win

Overall I didn't mind it. Everyone's crying because of the result. Like we didn't know this was gonna happen. Like for months. So forget about that, and Bryan not doing as well as we like. Apart from that I thought it was ok, and the 3 way match was pretty great.

I have a feeling that if wwe push Bryan he will do a Cena and get pushed down our throats when he needs a change of direction. I think the whole Reigns angle is to have him beat brock at Mania to help get him over, i have a sneaky feeling Goldberg will be back for one match given WWE love a triple threat at mania.

Goldberg isn't coming back ever. Despises Triple H.

It's been well known for many months that Roman Reigns was being groomed as John Cena's successor and that he would likely be main eventing WM31 and winning the title there. I mean it's not like it's been any kind of secret - the likes of Jim Ross were openly talking about it in his weekly blogs.

The problem is that Daniel Bryan came back from injury at the start of this month and is a far better wrestler and is far more popular than the very limited Reigns. And that Reigns promos over the last few months have been utterly embarrassing, with Vince scripting him to be Cena-lite.

There's no danger of WWE ever 'shoving Bryan down our throats'. What they are doing right now is 'shoving Reigns down our throats'. They flew The Rock in to make a cameo appearance at the end of the Rumble just to 'endorse' Reigns, basically begging the fans to accept him as a top guy, that he 'must be alright if the Rock likes him'. It just doesn't work. The fans don't want him as the top face, they want Daniel Bryan as the top face.
