GOT Wrestle Fest Fan Thread

I think the reasoning behind Kane and Big Show dominating was for Kane to break the record of eliminations, the commentators didn't seem arsed about it in the slightest just a passing comment 'oh yeah Kane has broke the record, ahh well'

Even The Rock brought in to rescue the inevitable meltdown over Reigns winning that didn't work. I'm amazed they managed to out-bad last years Rumble, but they did.

Awful.

A good post found on another board.

This is about the core philosophy of what WWE is, wants to be and should be.. there is a fundamental battle looming that will decide the future of the entity...

On one side you've got Vince... who hangs on to WWE being MORE than just a wrestling company... he wants a multimedia juggernaut ala Disney, he wants movies and toys and cartoons and to be seen as anything BUT a wrestling promoter.

On the other, you've got Triple H... someone who gets what Vince wants but grew up loving WRESTLING and has used his influence to bring that back to the table as much as he has been allowed to within Vince's framework...

In the middle? The fans... Most fans don't care what Vince wants, or for his "Sports Entertainment" concept... most fans got "brought to the dance" cos they like Wrestling... be it when they were kids or their parents did or do... and that is the issue here.

Vince is saying "F*** Wrestling", Hunter is saying "Viva Wrestling" with NXT... and they can't decide between them which to present as the main product. Vince doesn't want Bryan or Zig or Barrett or Punk cos they are WRESTLERS first... The fans don't want Reigns cos he is Nash in 94... Lex in 93... someone not worthy being crammed down their throat, not for the good of the product but to try and make WWE more than a wrestling company... It worked four times in 30 years... Hogan couldn't miss... Austin did it inspite of Vince's way... The Rock did it outside the WWE altogether and Cena... The 5th arguably is Bryan, but he is being stopped because it puts more wins for NOT doing it Vince's way in the column than Hogan and Cena...

That is the problem, the battle thats looming... WWE has to decide at the corporate level what it wants to be... it can again be the best wrestling company in the world, or fail at being Vince's dream.... the Disney sale looks closer than ever!

God that was bad.

And now I'm really tired. For no god reason.

I've defended WWE a lot in recent weeks but that was indefensible.

But. We knew he was probably going to win right?

It's more the Bryan elimination. And the total balls up of getting Rock out to make Reigns seem legit.

And I don't even hate Reigns that much. But I can see myself starting to if this carries on.

Title match was good. Will watch that again like.

But this bit should not be forgotten:

I felt bad for the man. Apparently they knew he was going to get sh*t on but went with it anyway. Tried to bring the Rock out to get the crowd on his side and that still didn't work. If the Rock can't even get you over then it's never going to happen. I think Vince and the writing team have ruined his career. Granted the kids will love him but he'll get booed out of the building again at Wrestlemania.

It seems to me that people are so Pro Daniel Bryan that he must win everything. Im happy he ever won the rumble, he had his moment at mania last year. The YES chants are starting to be worn out as much as WHAT?!

Im all for Reigns winning, if people dont like it then he can turn heel and really gain some heat. Mentions go out to Wyatt & Rusev.

The Lesnar, Cena & Rollins match was one of the best i have seen in a while, the whole table angle looked legitimately painful.

I don't dislike Reigns at all. I think there's something there, he's certainly likeable, but he's been rocket boosted to the top with no work and that's what the fans have turned on - being told what to like instead of organically rewarding hard work, good gimmicks and storytelling.

It's insulting fan intelligence. As I said, MASSIVE parallels with the pre-Attitude era product.

I have a feeling that if wwe push Bryan he will do a Cena and get pushed down our throats when he needs a change of direction. I think the whole Reigns angle is to have him beat brock at Mania to help get him over, i have a sneaky feeling Goldberg will be back for one match given WWE love a triple threat at mania.
