GOT Wrestle Fest Fan Thread

Exactly as you put it at the bottom mate.

It's just like a soap opera but people settle their differences by battering each other with a chair, sometimes in a steel cage. Everything is scripted, stories last ages, or not sometimes, and yes matches are choreographed so they know who is winning it before they start.
you stole my analogy........

Fair enough chaps. Good stuff.

An old neighbour of mine said football was just a soap opera as well. Perhaps the match results aren't predetermined, but with all heroes and villians, the long-standing rivalries etc, he certainly isn't far wrong.

How you getting on with it mate? Recommend it?

It lags like a mo-fo when there's more than 4 people in the ring and you can't hit people with title belts anymore, which is a bit annoying

Create a Wrestler is a bit lacking as well, as you can only use the entrances of the wrestlers already in the game and there aren't any generic or legend ones that you can use

These are teething problems from it moving up a generation though I think. I expect future ones will be a bit smoother once they get to grip with the hardware

Ryback has responded on Twitter to CM Punk calling him 'Steroid Guy':

For the record if I quit for being fragile and insecure I would make up excuses too. Things didn't go my way for a long time and I kept

Going day in and out. Slander is a powerful thing and to state complete made up nonsense for no reason shows his insecurities. I will

Continue to bust my ass study matches every chance I get, cut promos when driving and push myself for hours on end even when hurt. Thank you

Havent listened to the punk interview yet but will get round to it.

but the gist of what it seems to be about paints a very different picture of WWE than an outsider much as myself realised. So basically every wrestler who gets given a horrible character to work with or terrible storylines and dont get over with the fans dont even get paid much when they are dropped from the main table? Makes you wonder how a lot of the actual talent they drop have wasted potential and for every reigns/rusev/rollins/wyatt there is probably 2 that can make it easy but have been given a terrible angle to go with.

He also talked about how much he made from Merch (as much as Cena app. when Face) halving when he turned Heel.

Must be horrible then working under those conditions, how much you make is not dependant on how good you are but on what story writers decide.

Not really.

They are actors. Performers. It's not like a footballer who gets paid for how they perform.
Stands to reason that the popular guys get more money.
And to be fair if you enter the rather mental world of wrestling as a career then things like this really shouldn't be an issue. You're getting paid to have fake fights!

aye but in the amateurs you get paid no matter what where in WWE you get paid on appearences which asre based on storylines / events.

Now if you are a fantastic wrestler but get given a terrible angle then you arent going to get far unless you are unique (big show) so where mark henry is still there despite doing the same thing over and over and lots of younger talent dont even get the chance.

So if you get a gimmick of ruthless aggression and then build that as a rapper and the fans like it then you become the biggest thing since hulk hogan. But you get a gimmick which has you in the lower cards and the fans dont like it then you are dropped and lose a hell of a lot of money despite you being extremly talented.

difference with soaps is that they get paid no matter what, and the football performance based, they get paid if they get dropped from the team anyway. Wrestlers in WWE dont get paid.

I'm pretty sure they know this before they accept the job mate.

but 6 months down the line when they are kicked off the shows for poor reception and they cannot work anywhere else is a completely different matter.

Again. Their decision.

You're right in a way that their livelihood is dictated by the story writers essentially.

But they know this is the case beforehand.
