The Derby Arms - Great Urswick, tiny village just outside Ulverston, Cumbria.

Not only is it a cracking boozer, with the friendliest licensee that you'll ever meet, but it also has probably the best value B and B rooms in Cumbria - converted stable block. They also provide incredibly cheap licences to fish in the tarn facing it.
( which is full of fish )

If you want a cracking amazingly priced place pub to stay at whilst in Cumbria this is it - twenty mins from Bowness etc .

The village also has another good pub, that serves cracking food.

White Hart Inn : Bouth, Cumbria.

Tiny village a couple of miles from Newby Bridge.

Owned and run by ex TT rider, Nigel Barton.

17th Century coaching inn, superb collection of local ales, great food ( bit pricey ) and seven rooms above.

Wonderful pub.

Collingwood Arms in Jesmond, Newcastle.

Stunning two hundred year old pub which everything else has grown around, houses, flats etc, so it's like an island.

Great beers and decent food too.

Weirdly stops serving at 11pm, even at the weekend.
