Payday tomorrow in work so going Subway. Getting ham, lettuce, tomato and lite mayo isn't fat is it?
Whats the best thing in Subway to get?

Or would you suggest to just not get anything...

Anyone got any advice on DOMs? Or in other words, why the **** are my legs still in bits today after squats on Sunday?

You're aching because your muscles aren't accustomed to the work load you've put on them. You should always break in slowly.

If you've got severe DOMS, the best thing to do is this

1/ Ice everywhere that aches. 15 minutes on an hour off, or do it as many times a day as you can.
2/ Take some ibuprofen
3/ Use some biofreeze spray or gel (spray lasts longer, ie value for money) in the day when you can't ice
4/ Put some anti inflammatory gel on if you can't use biofreeze

Do the first two steps if you can't do the gels/ spray. Your aches will disappear quickly

I usually give my legs a good stretch and rub down after each training session. That and a good bit of food in the first 30 minutes afterwards seems to do the trick.

Seem to be hitting some really good form at the moment and am weighing in at 57kg so leaner than I've ever been. Shall do another session tonight, but looking good for the Maratona in just under six weeks time.

Reckon I'm healthier than I've ever been mate. Resting heart rate is about 40 at the moment. Maratona rules request medical clearance before you can compete so having a check-up next week. Can't see it being a problem though :)

I've got some body fat scale things in the bathroom. They say I'm around 12% so I'm not in Wiggins league  Still got a bit of upper body strength as can bench around twice my body weight, so not unhealthy I don't think, just quite lean.

Just hope the weather in Italy improves. Looks horrible in the Giro so far. Don't fancy riding in that kind of rain for 6 hours, let alone descending a wet mountain surrounded by a few thousand crazy Italians.

Yeah its been my first time back doing legs for a while since a rugby injury, might have overcocked it a bit haha. As for freeze gel/ice, i was under the impression you ice bones, but heat muslces for injuries/DOMs?

Good luck trying to ice a bone :)

Ice is good for inflammation and soreness. Basically you ice the area, which reduces blood flow, take the ice away and you get an increase of blood flow, which helps heal the muscles more quickly. You're also flushing away anything that's unwanted. I e is your friend

Did 25 mins of high intensity circuit training today. Never felt a bigger burn, my whole body is aching.

In other news, edging closer to my aim of Benching 1RM 150kg, got 1 rep out of 145kg today, probably the scariest thing was that I thought my shoulders (which have been severely injured from my short lived Rugby League career) were going to pop out...luckily all was well. Buzzing here.

Had a small stomach problem over the last few days. Think it was maybe something I ate on Saturday night, but caused the ride on Sunday to be cut short at 110km. Hopefully be ok for training tomorrow.

Yeah, still 110km more than i've rode in the past 3 months.

Went the gym today first time in about 3 weeks.

Had a headache and felt sick after! Need to keep it up.

I am 11st 7 now, down from 13st 8 ish.
