Jumped straight to the end of this thread, weighed myself this morning and I weigh 14st 8lbs. Please give some kind of advice to lose this ie fitness programmes etc etc. I drink lattes all day at work so they will be going, I have some weights and a boxing bag but no idea where to start from a programme point of view. I am running the Manchester 10k run next week, last year did it in 56 mins in a captain America costume, don't think I will be nowhere near that time this year.

Ask Maddison mate, he has good advice. I personally have just joined the gym and thrown myself in the deep end, swimming and some gym work. Its hard, both socially and logistically but if your determined your gonna be sound.

Cut sugar out of your diet and buy a magazine like Mens Fitness, they usually have pretty good programmes

Already seeing the benefits. I feel mentally a bit better about myself ( my own personal goal).

I go in after work, and spend about 10 mind on the recumbent bike. Then..Seated row, tricep press, AI pull down, chest press, ab crunch, Ratchet crank.

I usually finish with a few minutes in the pool swimming about as a warm down, then into the steam room to relax.

I am at 13 stone on the dot, I was 15 stone in June last year, lost about 2 stone with a sensible diet alone, only joined the gym about 2.5 weeks ao

Cheers mate, that's where I will struggle the exercise I think I can handle but I love sugar ie will have 2-3 teaspoons in a coffee and I drink lots of coffee but will try and cut down

Great work there mate, keep it up,

Just had a one and a half mile run. Which isn't very impressive generally, but as I've not tested my asthma ridden lungs for a while I'm fairly pleased with myself. Also subscribed to Men's Health too. Its really good.

GAAAAHHHH, I haven't been to the gym for at least 2 weeks, I've been working 55 hour weeks and I just can't be arsed to go at the moment.

*hides from Saliba*

a brief audit of my fitness (sweating like a skewered pig in winter in just a t-shirt) and the fact my doc said if I kept putting the ale (and wine and spirits and anything else) away I'd be dead in two years has put me on a bit of a health kick this year. I've lost 3.5 stone. Started jogging, joined a gym, take vitamins a day, started doing strength/tone conditioning, drink a pint of carrot/tomato juice a day, have six portions of veggie and fruit, no refined carbs and haven't drank a drop for 7 months.

My only pleasure is staring at a tight sweaty arse in front of me in the gym*.

Also got myself onto a good masters course starting in October, which I'm really happy about.

Bought a load of new togs the other day, got a haircut, I tell ya GOT I'm a new man.

But still the pub calls...what can you do eh? So yeah, fitness, I'm all over that ****— see yous all down the gym, I'll be the one crying on the stepmaster.

*I shouldn't say that because Gary is a lovely lad.
