The best thing I can say is, he was too average for me to even care. Good riddance to a nothing player whose life's greatest achievement came on a chilly Goodison eve over 4 years ago.
He will tell his grandkids about it. Nobody will tell theirs about him.

pretty much sums it up. He was never going to make it as a decent prem player. He has OK technique but has zero pace or strength. Thanks for the Derby goal (lets not think about the 5 crosses you let Benfica play in when we got hammered)...but ultimately you were not Everton class (well, maybe Everton class of 1993)

The Club left him a loophole and he took it, all we had to do was put the offer in writing and we could have got a few pennys in compo, hes no great loss, he was bang average, hes still making more a week then some of us do a year, so its not like hes bothered.

Seem to recall he scored in that famous 3-1 thrashing of Man Utd as well

We never saw the best of him becuase Moyes played him out wide

True, but I only think that's because he wasn't good enough to get a game in the middle.

Shame it never worked out for him with us, but hey ho

Goslings career wasnt only ruined by his move to Newcastle (if at all)

It was ruined when he played his last game for us. Despite being obviously injured about 20 minutes before the end of the match Moyes didnt take him off the pitch (or he didnt take himself off, either way we had used all three subs) and he carried on playing, running with a limp.

He didnt play for us again and has hardly played for Newcastle since then. I dont think his ability was the problem at all.

Was a decent player I always thought. The times he did play midfield he would always get himself in one or two good goal scoring positions a game. I think that's how he got injured if I remember right? Had decent movement and could pass quite well.

Never going to be a top class player but would have been a good squad man.

Hahah **** him. What a [Poor language removed].

Contrast that to James Vaughan, love that he's doing well. Wish we still had him, really. Top lad, top blue.

I really really really really hope he traveled with the team and got to watch what he left.
But we know that definitely didn't happen. Probably playing for their u21s.
His agent should be given a medal for helping ruining his career.

He'd have been shipped out like Anichebe when Martinez took over and I don't know if he'd have ever gotten a foothold in the starting eleven.

He'd have been good for the cup ties but that's about it.

Anichebe got us 5m
I would have wished him the best of luck if he'd even gotten us 3m- instead of running off for nothing
