Contrast that to James Vaughan, love that he's doing well. Wish we still had him, really. Top lad, top blue.

Having this conversation with a mate the other day, Vaughan should stay at Huddersfield for 3-4 years I think, I just get the feeling he'll be one of those who'll do well at one level for a club before jumping up to the Premiership for a year and being shipped around from team to team scoring 3 goals a season...

He's doing boss at Huddersfield, keep it that way.

Goslings career wasnt only ruined by his move to Newcastle (if at all)

It was ruined when he played his last game for us. Despite being obviously injured about 20 minutes before the end of the match Moyes didnt take him off the pitch (or he didnt take himself off, either way we had used all three subs) and he carried on playing, running with a limp.

He didnt play for us again and has hardly played for Newcastle since then. I dont think his ability was the problem at all.

Wolves away. My memory of it was he injured himself bottling out of a 50/50 challenge when through one on one with Marcus Hanahman in the Wolves goal. He should have won us the game!

I think it was the last 5 mins though not 20

Getting say 10-15K/week for a prem side is probably about 3-4X what he makes. If the prem calls him up he'd probably go. Good to see him playing well and staying healthy.

If i recall correctly it was Hennessy not Hahneman, but yeah was riiight at the end of the game. Though it did seem totally innocuous at the time.

...that was a bad injury he had when he left us. Had he stayed I suspect he would be in exactly the same position, so the only loser in all of this has been Newcastle. We got a long-term crock off our books, the player will have got a sizable signing-on fee via the Bosman as well as increasing his wage but the poor old Geordies have bought a dud.

...it was a baddun, straight leg impact. It was sickening. I don't think he bottled out, he tried to control rather than hitting first time and gave the goalie the opportunity to clobber him.

Yeah it was the last 5 minutes or so. I always had a problem with the "play through the pain barrier" thing with Moyes. That Gosling felt he had to stay on with an injury that serious shows two things - that youth players know that if they get on the bad side of Moyes they dont play again, and that if he sees you as some sort of wuss then the same thing happens

Was terrified Mirallas would end up in the same position last year, but to be fair he'd have just strolled off the pitch whatever Moyes said.

A mix of the fear effect of Moyes and absolute stupidity from the player to carry on.

Only ever been to a few aways but this was one of them. The chicken Tikka pie was by far the highlight of the day. We should get them in at Goodison far superior to them **** hotdogs

He was average at best. Boss for the derby goal and a bit of a tit for leaving the way he did but overall NEA.
