Non-HG players: 8
Home-grown players: 10
Under-age players : 2
It shows the work still to be done: we would need at least 4 players to make it a worthy PL squad in terms of numbers meaning a left back, a midfielder and 2 wingers.
It remains to be seen if Tyrer, Armstrong and Chermiti will be loaned out or not.
A new Right back is needed regardless of Patterson and Coleman.

So 5 minimum

The first 11 is not terrible. Every area could do with strengthening and it is weaker than we ended last year.

Our bench has nothing. Add a few starters and the bench strengthens as players are squeezed down.

More please …

It's interesting to see which players have gotten the minutes thus far, and when.

It appears Moyes has been giving the below every opportunity to win a spot, with varying levels of success:

Patterson
Harrison
Iroebugnum
Chermiti

Of those four, to me only Harrison has had a decent showing. I think in the last match, he was pushed around a bit in the center of the park. He could be a loan option, or he sticks around for cup matches and adding strength, maybe loaned out in January if he's not getting enough match time.

Patterson has had time at RCB, RWB and RB. Still the same player. Don't see, at this point, how he's a part of the squad, I think he's squandered any chance he's had.

Iroebugnum has gotten a good look as well, and he just looks slow in his decision making. I don't know if a loan helps, but it's obviously a part of the squad that needs strengthening.

Chermiti gets garbage time on the wing, I don't think there's any hope for him sticking around.

All of the above is dependent on incomings, obviously. But I feel like he's given 3 of them above a real shot to earn a spot, and two of them definitely have not.

Patterson ~£11m
Iroegbunam ~£10m
Chermiti ~£12m + £3m

Silly money, thrown around on prospects* when we're struggling to keep the lights on and the psr vultures from the door.

*Tim Iroegbunam a ~ swap with Dobbin.
