Gerard Deulofeu

I have to say, I see what you mean.

Lennon may be the less popular option, but perhaps better suits the side currently, for the near future at least.

I appreciate those who are sad at Del potentially going, but are we being swayed by exotic-name-itis?

Think we are being swayed due to his obvious talent and the fact Aaron Lennon hasn't improved since his early days at Spurs and is utter pony.

Creates chances? All I have seen him do is basically play as a Second RB this season. Can anyone name the last time he went past a fullback? Nope me neither

Its not his fault that he is being asked to play deeper. But that will be the reason he is still here too.

Creates chances by putting defenders under pressure is what I was getting at.

He is nowhere near as bad as some people make out.

Deulofeu just isn't good enough, and that's all there is to it. We saw some flashes of brilliance; his goal against Arsenal, several pinpoint crosses to Lukaku 18 months ago, but that's about it. He barely breaks into a sprint nowadays and appears nowhere near fit enough for this league. It'd be great to have him succeed with us, but I can't see it now.

I don't mind Lennon at all. Much better suited to Koeman's work ethic than Deulofeu.

I'm sure you're all aware how much that pains me to say.
I don't think Lennon is as "bad" as some make out.

He's not a world beater I know, but he's half decent. He will not be here in 18 months I'm sure, but if he can do job until we get a top winger......

No end product, cant play for longer than 20 minutes.

Lee Trundle had tons of talent. It doesnt matter how much talent you have if you dont have the capability to do anything with it.

I'd like to keep Ged personally because he is still young and as you say the natural talent is there but lets not pretend we are getting rid of the next Pele here either. Ged has shown zero signs of improvement either. Why is he still not capable of playing a full game?

He is a fine squad man.

I dont get the hate for the lad, he is a decent player, works hard and creates chances through his determination and harrassing of opponents.

Maybe not a starter or anything but as a squad man he will do for me.

Nah. No more plucky Everton I thought?

The teams better than us currently are City, RS, Chelsea, Spurs, Arsenal and Utd.

In order to catch them we can't have him part of things. Think about it.

I get that. It doesnt just change overnight though either. All clubs have solid squad men, he ticks that box for me.

True but we are in a position now where there is no way we are finishing below 7th so what have we to lose?

Is Lennon part of future plans? No chance under Koeman/Moshiri.

Same applies for Oviedo, Jags, Kone etc... by the way.

I think Lennon is best defined as a hard worker, that has some decent moments. When attacks break down, he always falls back and defends. Gerry had a tendency to throw his arms in the air when things didn't go his way. Lennon is much more suited to what Koeman wants on the pitch.

Not really arsed if he stays or goes but keeping lennon over him is a strange one like.
I doubt Lennon will be here too much longer either. His work rate is all that puts him ahead probably but seeing how little he has played this season I can't see him being here next.

Sad if Geri goes, not because he's a world beater, but because he hasn't realised his full potential with us, as with Barca. Read a good point elsewhere that if it had been Geri making the Davies run on Sunday it wouldn't have resulted in a goal because Geri wouldn't have got up off the floor after colliding with Stones, I think that sort of sums him up, must be very frustrating to manage.
