Gerard Deulofeu

This is Del Boy's big chance maybe final chance.

He looked good when he came on against Utd and would love it if he could nail the spot down.

As an aside, the Depay deal looks more likely now

Were we watching the same game? Del was utter chod.

Agree though that this is his last chance to make an impact, or he's off to Malaga/Real Betis.

Good thanks Kiwi - and you?

Tbh I think wingers are put on this earth to tantalise and frustrate!

Apart from the early season Deulofeu certainly hasn't performed his best, he does seem a bit of a confidence player and he hasn't really hit a purple patch. It is a bit of a concern I have with Koeman about the whole squad, he doesn't seem to inspire in any of them so far that belief that they are better than the opposition and Gerard is at his best with that cocky arrogance. Hopefully he will seize his chance.
Been alright, taken a bit of a break from here given I haven't enjoyed it much lately.

As to Geri, absolutely. For me though I'd much rather have him in the team over Kev, and would be interested to see him be given a go at number 10 if Ross is out of Koeman's good books.

Indeed.

He gave them sommat else to think about and he creates space for his full back to shine.

Minutes per assist chart for last season (for players over a minimum number of appearances).

Can people stop saying he's crap pls.

GERI MEANS GOALS

Im not having this kid one bit, never wanted him back in the 1st place. But he had a few decent months and i thought hed matured and was looking a good player. But he slumped back into being just poor.....hes just not the answer.

I honestly can't agree, I feel like this is a (previously very deserved) rep that has stuck with him. His application on the pitch is second to none these days and he seems so grounded in recent interviews.

I think this whole situation with his fitness is down to one of two things

1 - He's got a nagging injury/illness we don't know about that's preventing him from doing the required work to up his stamina

2 - He's not pushing himself enough to get that required fitness

I honestly think a lad like him should be able to have more wind than he does

I don't think he's not trying when he actually gets on the pitch, but I find it hard to believe there's not more he could be doing off it to improve in the areas in which he needs to improve, and that has to come under "attitude" (or "self-application" if you think "attitude" is unfair or incendiary)

I'm not saying he's a tit or a trouble maker like, but surely there's something going on with his application to be that unfit? At the end of the day, whether people like it or not, the PL is a fast paced league and you simply have to be able to run a lot, and if you can't do that you're going to struggle, no matter how talented you are
