Gerard Deulofeu

Like most( including Koeman at the start of the season) I really rated him. Still hope he can do it, but the more I see him the more he seems too lightweight for this league. C'mon Del prove me wrong.

I fear he doesn't have the mental strength to grasp his opportunity here. Dunno what it is about our club and producing gutless losers.

Anyway, really really want this kid to get it together because he can be magic.

Shocking how he's being written off.

22 year old winger doesn't literally set the world on fire every time he plays for 15 minutes at the end of a toothless performance from a variety of seasoned pros, and that means he'll never make it because he's too one-footed and too much of a show pony.

But Tom Davies/Kieren Dowell is the answer. Until they hit bad form and we decide that they'll never be better than Fleetwood, yes?

He needs to play, and needs to make mistakes and get better and work harder. He won't ever develop if he's being kept out of the side...but since we need our wingers to track back (I mean, we have no good defenders...we need all the help we can get) we have no room for the one player that can make magic out of nothing.

Maybe he should just run around more and huff and puff real hard. That would make him worthy of a place.

It's fascinating to see how people's opinions of players is so wholly dependent on their stated views on the managerial situation.

If Koeman is 'good', that means the players MUST ALL be crap. If he's not good, then they're probably better than they look.

Gerard has a place at the PL level. He's not consistent enough for a top-team yet, or perhaps ever. Lucky for him, we're not a top-team right now. We've struggled for months now to create anything. He's our most creative player. It's time to actually see what he can do in a Koeman team.

But ridiculous writing off a 22 year old winger with inconsistent play time under multiple managers. Remember the last time we looked like we could score? Remember who was the creative outlet back then?

interesting to see if he can now deliver. clearly his time. personally i think he's brilliant...technically. but his fitness in general is horrible. few sprints and he's done.

Looks like its now or never for him. If he doesnt impress in the next few months I can see him gone....
He has had his chances, can see us wanting to try and get back the 4m we payed, which we won't do if start playing him from the start.
Could see a Hull or Borough type side having a punt but if start him they will get onto the fact he can only do 60 minutes.

I dont think he has had enough of a run of games to get himself into proper form under Koeman. alot of that being because we overspent on Bolasie so the manager has to justify the fee by playing him (wrong attitude imo)

You're deluded if you think Koeman is the type of manager to play somebody because of the transfer fee. He clearly just rates him more highly.
