I remember being on a budget flight somewhere and in the in-flight mag was an ad for Coke and crisps, and chucked in as an incentive to buy them was ten free downloads of songs. I found this horribly depressing. That's what it's come to. Something to be given away free with junk food. Who wants to spend their life making something to be given away free with junk food?

If there was a button you could press that would eliminate the entirety of recorded music from the world, freeing music from this zombie culture, so it only existed in the minds of musicians everywhere, with no copyright, no restrictions on it, only the possibility of musicians playing it, would you press the button? I'd be sorely tempted, I gotta say.

It's good that the industry of selling physical music doesn't exist as a huge corporate concern any more, because it was wasteful, restrictive and bad for artists.

It's just a shame that what's replaced it is even worse for artists. The only people making money off recorded music are the streaming services and huge distributors and record labels bundling their entire catalogues to the streamers who really only want their top artists.

So what was your reason for attempting to derail this thread about an unrelated topic?

That ‘unrelated topic’, has a Police Force which purposely sets out to kill certain individuals, has an Executive imposing new laws to classify certain actions as actions against the state and therefore punishable. Not unlike what is happening in the USA with Trumps classification of antifa. The actions in HK are just tougher and more harsh than those in the USA, yet the world does not protest. China imprisons, re-educates and uses slave Labour of minorities and the world still does not protest. You see it as unrelated, I see it as a state practicing racism and using coercion and the threat of ‘disappearing’ as an even more intolerable form than is happening in the USA. If what is happening in China is acceptable to all the various ‘campaigning’ groups, then do not be surprised when more authoritarian actions take place in your own countries. Racism comes in many forms......

Yes, it’s not like loads of people have called out China on here or demonstrated against them.

Ok.

So, Poorer people are 2.5x more likely to be killed by police than white people in USA.

They are also far more likely to rob, steal, and victimize others. Far greater than 2.5x. (try 6x and 7x etc)

This is the point that everybody misses.

If you have a group that puts their hands in the fire more often, then that group is going to get burnt more often. Who woulda thought hey?

Sure. There are other issues at play. But this doesn't mean every cop in the USA is racist. Institutional racism is at the heart of it.

Poorer, less educated people are also 7x more likely to murder someone in USA.

Poorer people are more likely to victimize richer people than richer people are to victimize poorer people.

Poorepeople are 6x more likely to be robbed and murdered than richer people. Because they live in poorer areas.

Why do people continually ignore the elephant in the room?

There's probably been 4 black people shot today in Chicago alone, by other black men. No one cares about that. BLM don't.

fixed it for you.

Unless you genuinely think it’s a biological thing. I’m which case you are wrong.

Twitter is absolute aids in times like these, Too many people posting stuff without context or just general fake information or stuff that happened 10 years ago like the DC blackout thing yesterday and it just adds fuel to the fire.

*Next season*

Goodison screams blue murder as we are denied a clear penalty in the 90th minute against Liverpool. 'Kopites are..' rings out around the ground. One brave, lone, Peter Blue stands up in front of Gwladys, clears his throat, 'But in Hong Kong, they are being denied justice for even greater crimes, why aren't you shouting about that?'

The whole of the ground, previously on one knee, stands to applaud him

So people shouldn't protest injustice where they live because they don't protest injustice where they don't live? Or should they all be flying to Hong Kong to get disappeared by the CCP? Were there not several huge marches across the world in support of the protestors in Hong Kong?

I think you are indulging in whataboutery whilst comparing apples and oranges.
