To be fair, a male white, uk ex-pat, living in the Philippines, is among the most discriminated of all people.
We can only imagine the hardships he faces as he courts his local ‘girlfriends’ and drinks in various ex-pat bars with red faced Dutchmen wearing Hawaiian shirts complaining that the locals are all untrustworthy and lazy.
Indeed, its like being educated on muslim culture by someone who did a 2 week all inclusive in dubai

Just because one bloke had a banner it makes it accurate? I mean if he could provide information and the names of the 1500+ unlawful murders incidents - Mark Duggan for example was I believe ruled a legal homicide and that an illegal handgun was found at the scene.

Also I believe the gentleman shot in the midst of the 7/7 bombings was Portuguese and not black (was awful that but its unfair to make out it was some racist cop when they were looking for the failed bombers that tried attacking the city shortly after the initial attack and seemed an all around awful error).

Also if white people havent the right to an opinion on this as some say then why are there more white protesters there than black?

Irresponsible and I hope if someone does pick up the virus in that crowd that its them that deals with the consequences and not some poor sod that they pass it on too.

The problem for me is the idea it takes something to happen in the US and social media bombardment to get people in the UK to do take notice of something.

US school shootings was the last uproar which has zero impact on society in the UK yet the country had an opinion.

Where we're the mass protests over the rise in knife violence in inner cities last year? The discussion around race and social inequality that were more relevant to our society was nowhere near the scale as now over the death of 1 man in another country. Its as the guy in the previous posts video said, most of these people will just be paying lip service to an issue to feel better about themselves rather than actually doing something that will help.

Hopefully it'll open peoples eyes more to our own cultural problems and not trying to shoehorn US societal issues

So your take away from this is that the UK is copying the US and that's not cool.
How did you copy the US on school shootings out of curiosity? Put armed cops in classrooms?
Racist police brutality is not just a US problem. I know that's uncomfortable for some but these protests are well past due for others.

Oh that has just reminded me, in light of many UK not knowing about the OK sign and Q, some might know the Hawaiian shirt references

Its why the left is becoming a joke in this country (I say that as a centre left voter) as dare I say those white university type protesters going there whilst they have good intentions they are nowhere to be found regarding numerous issues of social injustice happening everyday which isn't the main story on their FB page.

I have a lot of respect for those that are supporting the movement safetly and those actually in the US protesting against their Government/racist system but the bandwagon jumpers not adhering to social distancing in the UK and gathering in a large mob are likely the same clowns who were slating anyone going out for a bike ride during lockdown or calling the Tories irresponsible over their decision to reopen schools...

Dont think he is saying that at all mate.

Think he means that a high profile racist/police incident in the US has opened the eyes of folk in the UK that we aint as great, race wise, as perhaps many thought we were.

Its different, as in not ingrained, but it is here. The difference maybe is that the UK acknowledge that, and find ways to improve.
