So four justices do not believe in the Supremacy Clause, and probably would have voted in favor of South Carolina's seizure of Fort Sumter. That's not great.

As someone who knows more than a little about the events that lead to the American Civil War, the idea that a governor is currently claiming his state isn’t beholden to Federal laws or Supreme Court rulings, and 20+ governors have come out to back him, is, let’s say…concerning.
….i always think how a country punishes criminals is a reflection of their society.
