I have said it before but as long as these idiots are demanding control of womens 'bodies', women should withdraw access to the very same.
Aye, I suppose so. I just find it incredibly disturbing, and I feel confident that is these men thought voting in such ways/passing laws meant non of the good times that only a lady can bring would see a change in tune. But as you say parity seems bloody obvious.I get what you mean, but technically that is also punitive to women as we also have to give up sex. Also could increase abuse and perpetuate the idea women don't really like/enjoy sex and the taboo/shaming of women for enjoying/seeking sex.
Rather see men getting similar "consequences" as women for pregnancy. She presumably didn't get pregnant on her own.
If she was "chemically impaired" why isn't the father in jail for putting a fetus at risk by impregnating an impaired person.
Why isn't the father ensuring adequate prenatal care for his unborn child? He's abandoned the fetus. (presumably as he's not mentioned in the article)
Where are the legal consequences for men in any of this?
"Every time on this committee that we try to teach students values like empathy or kindness, we're told we can't because that's the parent's role. Every time on this committee that we try to teach basic sex education to keep our kids safe, we're told that's the parent's role."
Noble could not answer that nor did she have a response to Talarico's point asking why "having a rainbow in a classroom considered indoctrination, and not having the Ten Commandments in a classroom.""But now you're putting religious commandments, literal commandments in our classrooms and you're saying that's the state's role. Why is that not the parent's role?
It will be interesting to see if they can force it through on the floor. The timing is fortunate for the hard-right members, in the sense that there's now urgency to re-open before November.![]()
Speaker fight: Jim Jordan wins over some GOP skeptics | CNN Politics
Rep. Jim Jordan won the support of several key skeptics in the Republican conference Monday, bolstering momentum for his bid for speaker ahead of a planned floor vote on Tuesday.amp.cnn.com
Gonna be an interesting week.
As someone who worked for a Japanese company for 15 years, that type of “activist” mentality is just not what you would expect to see in Japanese corporate culture at all. What kinda blows my mind is that Honda, Hyundai and Mercedes all build cars in Alabama.
Pressure should be put on these companies to reconsider where they locate their American production.
I know that's not fair on the regular folk working in these plants but these massive Asian and European manufacturers have a whole lot of clout over lawmakers. We make a song and dance about human rights violations outside the US, we should do the same for places like Alabama.
That story is horrifying.
Hopefully @Boss_Blue still has room in his shed for me.The other option would be to just move over to the UK. We will give all US ladies the warmest of welcomes and provide comfort from the distress of watching Everton live.
The people against Jordan also tend to be the more moderate side of that caucus and by their very nature tend to be more interested in actual governance than stunts like Gaetz. It will be interesting to see if they can force it through on the floor. Hope at least for no’s stand firm as would really hate for Jordan to be speaker and would reward Gaetz with exactly what he wanted.
