Hope so but I thought the restraining order and allegedly putting a gun to his ex wife's temple and threatening to blow her brains out would have sunk his candidacy yet he was still close in the polls last I checked.

My read of the polling data is that it has started trending significantly in Warnock's direction and that this is the nail in the coffin. Hypocrisy at this level never plays well with the persuadable subset of voters. Warnock can lose, even if nothing else changes in the race, but my sense is that a Warnock loss is becoming pretty unlikely. Nate is slower to update his priors than I am.

He must REALLY hate his dad. A quick scroll through that Twitter feed was not at all what I expected. Promoting his anti-woke podcast, multiple Tweets praising Ron DeSantis, trashing Gavin Newsome and the state of California in general, retweeting support for the new far-right Italian PM, anti-immigrant and anti-transgender sentiments. But there’s those two tweets calling his dad a POS.

He basically believes everything in the “platform” HW is running on, but just despises the man himself.

A lot of people that didn't live through the early 1960s seem to think that if we can just build a time machine back to then, but take our cell phones with us, everything will be alright. They seem to be unaware of things like the Cuban Missile Crisis and the riots.

I suppose it's what we get for not bothering to teach history after WWII to my generation in high school, since Vietnam and Watergate were still so controversial.

Broadly speaking, that was simply not an option when I was in high school in multiple school systems. One way to look at history stopping in 1945 is as a way of avoiding dealing with the Cold War elephant that had just exited the room.
