Current Affairs General US politics (ie, not POTUS related)

It's not even that it's 33% hand picked by a single person. 5 of the 6 justices who voted to overturn Roe were appointed to the Court by a President who was elected to office while receiving fewer votes than his opponent.

There are obviously huge parts of the system that are entirely broken. Republicans are an ever-growing minority in this country, but continue to hold onto power by winning elections more or less on technicalities and then use that power to build even more technicalities into the system so they remain in power. It's becoming a vicious cycle that I'm not sure how we break out of. The framers of the Constitution probably didn't write it with a two party system in mind, and almost certainly didn't do so with a consideration that one of those two parties would be perpetually acting in complete bad faith.
It just seems such a weird situation whereby the Democrats are in government but the Republicans have remained in power.

On top of all this happening in the US lately, we go ahead and sell our most popular player by far because of gross mismanagement at our Board.

Are we sure Everton aren't truly the force behind American politics?

This despite “WASHINGTON, D.C. -- U.S. support for legal same-sex marriage continues to trend upward, now at 70% -- a new high in Gallup's trend since 1996. This latest figure marks an increase of 10 percentage points since 2015, when the U.S. Supreme Court ruled that all states must recognize same-sex marriages.”

Shockingly, despite the State trying to make public education a safe space for little white kids, the State Board of Education said "uh, we don't think so you freaks" and suggested the committee making this ludicrous proposal revisit it.

BTW, it should not be a shock to learn that slavery is not currently a component of the curriculum for second graders. Yes, you read that correctly. This proposal is related to the curriculum for 7-year-olds.

I might finally lose it when the biology courses in middle school start talking about storks delivering babies.

Such a strange place. I know it’s not an option for many, but why do you choose to stay in Texas? Sense of responsibility to fight the good fight or more to it than that?

It is where I've lived my entire life so... Stockholm Syndrome?

Honestly, my mother is here as are my sons, my siblings and my business is located here, too. So, yeah, the biggest part of why I remain here to fight the chuckleheads and not let the bastards win (force me/us out).

If my sons decide to leave, though, all bets are off.

Pretty similar situation for me here in TN. My mom is here, and I’ve managed to build myself a nice little gilded cage with my work and having built up a local clientele over the years. If there were any conceivable way I could replicate my current standard of living elsewhere, I’d be gone in a cocaine heartbeat.

Jesus wept.

Cheney is the only one in that video who can even so much as string several words into a coherent sentence, and she’s STILL getting steamrolled by those clowns. Apparently the woman in blue talking about 2000 Miles is leading the polls at the moment.
Gotta respect Cheney for actually sticking to her guns and not just rolling over with the conspiracy crowd garbage for the sake of staying in power. She deserves her seat in congress and is really the type of leader the GOP should be looking for more of. Absolute shame if she loses to one of those other morons on that stage.
