WTF are they even on about at this point? Hardly any place in the country has significant COVID restrictions still in place. There’s still the mask mandate on planes and airports, but that’s almost certainly gone in less than a month.

Like that one tweet earlier in the thread pointed out, these are the same people who act like the apocalypse is upon us and they are in imminent danger of starving to death every time gas goes up $0.25 and a Democrat is in the White House, yet they’re wasting untold sums of money riding and whining about something that isn’t even real.
Idiots, there is not a good reasoning behind their protest.

Looking at the map, it’s a strange district. It does manage to shoehorn a ton of areas where a lot of minorities live, but also includes Sequoya Hills, which is as close to going back in time to the Old South as you are likely to ever encounter. Kind of surprising that kind of old money doesn’t have the political pull to get drawn into a district that better represents them.
A little more research suggests that it's a historically Democratic, union district in North Knoxville. The Republicans redrew it in 2010 to add in places like Sequoya Hills and that conservative region down along Alcoa Highway in order to tip it Republican. Then, the political allegiances both in places like Sequoya Hills and in that southern region started to shift towards the Democrats in recent years.

The minority count seems to be a bit lower than I thought, but that makes sense if part of the objective was to crack minority voters while producing a Republican representative.

Seems like Thomas has been at the hospital since Friday, wonder why it took the Court two days to notify the public about it. Why the secrecy?

Anyway, I wouldn’t be against Biden having a second opportunity at nominating another Supreme Court Justice this year.

Is Thomas a ‘conservative’ judge?
Per Wikipedia “Thomas is often described as an originalist and as a textualist. He is also often described as the Court's most conservative member, though others gave Justice Antonin Scalia that designation while they served on the Court together.”
