I read somewhere that in situations like Jan 6, they go after the little fish first and build up to the big boys.
This seems to be what's happening. It's a frustratingly slow process but I've a feeling they know they have until the midterms before their hands get tied.

Unfortunately he is just one of the many scumbags that are part of the Republican Party.

Thing is no one is asking anyone to wear masks anymore. Hasn't most states lifted it now.

They literally had two years to come up with their own idea and what a month since the Canucks started their protest.

So they mobilize just as most mask mandates are lifted.

Even if it were about vaccines, the federal government haven't forced that on anyone.

So driving to DC from this region was kind of pointless and a waste of diesel. Bet they will complain about that next.

I read several of them were arrested for smuggling meth from Canada or some nonsense.

I noticed a lot less wearing masks in my local Kilkenny supermarket yesterday. I am still keeping mine on as I do not want to get this or any variant. I have seen too many suffering and dying from this bloody pandemic.

Yep myself and my wife are the same here. We keep ours on and we make sure out son has his on. There's a lot of unvaccinated people here and like you say there will be variants. As I said in the covid thread I have lost friends to it.

It was quite good and also an indictment of the US healthcare system. It ingrains the normality of forgoing preventative care and teaches people healthcare is only for when they are literally deathly ill. It is part of why our healthcare is so expensive (besides it being a for-profit system)

My daughter, a nurse, tested positive last weekend despite vaccination.

Several friends of ours were the same. Funnily enough they were at a small gathering with a lady who was a doctor and one of her nurses.

All of them vaccinated and with the latest booster. Luckily they were all alright.

It may not be high numbers anymore but it's still out there affecting people.

Thing is we won't even get an accurate number because we have been told if you are asymptomatic or have light symptoms there's only a need for a home test.

So with that and the still large unvaccinated people it just isn't wise to relax too much.
