He is a freak and should be nowhere near this job but the whole process of this event yesterday is absolutely bizarre. Weird country.

Actually you could probably say that about most of the people deciding whether he gets the job, so maybe that's what he was going for.

Flake votes to confirm Kavanaugh.
GOP (including flake) on Judiciary votes down effort to subpoena Mark Judge on a party-line vote.
On to the Senate tomorrow and one final chance for someone from the GOP to show some moral courage.

I think it was a serious point, not the value of the event but it’s intent. If it had been paid by the Democrats, there would have been a serious political issue. If has been said, that it was paid for by a legal team, who are accepting no money, then again a question would be why, and what are the political leanings or affiliations of the legal team. Intent is everything and the question would certainly play well to republicans and anyone sitting on the fence.......
Polygraphs are not typically expensive, a couple in Dr Ford’s position would not have any difficulty in affording it. The provision of it (even if paid for by someone else) would not be an inducement to her to undergo it, she testified at how distressing she found the whole event.

I do not find it suspicious af all that others would will willing to offer to pay for it and other expenses she has incurred by coming forward such as legal fees, security costs and alternate accommodation whilst under death threats especially those who believe like I do that she was the victim of a sexual assault. This clearly has been a very difficult event for Dr Ford and her family (as indeed it has been for Judge Kavanaugh’s family), covering her costs will have in no way made up for that or made her volunteer for it.

I’d say exactly the same if costs were being covered, and legal representation provided, for an accuser of a dem nominee.

I'm starting to feel a civil war is brewing in the USA. I don't say that lightly either - there just seems to be very, very serious dividing issues that aren't being addressed.

yep, the divide along party lines and ideologies is so stark

you seem to have to identify as liberal or conservative

Trust me, there are tons of conservatives who hate this administration and who think Ford is genuine.

I have no doubt, but it appears they are too worried about the 'other side' winning to be bothered

and i thought lindsey graham was supposed to be a moderate/centerist or worked across party lines?!

There are, but they are like United fans who hated what Ferguson did to the club; ie: that they fundamentally go along with it.
no, they're Reagan Republicans, fiscal conservatives, people who approved of Clinton ending glass steagal. People who became concerned with the antics of Gingrich in the 90s and GW Bush in the 00's. People concerned with national debt and the cost of endless wars. These people had no time for Obama and probably approve of Trumps tax cuts but little else. They have no time for what the GOP has become.

If Kavanaugh is approved tomorrow, there'll be a massive kickback in 6 weeks. There'll be a much bigger chance of the dems taking both houses and then 18-20 will be an absolute mess as they try to take down Trump. I see no reason why, in 2020 if the dems can win the white house, they wouldnt call for an FBI investigation in to Kavanaugh and, depending on the results, try to impeach him.

edit. Hang on, is Trump Ferguson in this analogy?
even so, I still see alot of conservatives turning their backs on the GOP
