Despite being counterculture, Bill Hicks may well be a retired ex-military guy's kind of people.

I admit that the 'female' part may be a problem, given the description.

Yeah, I heard the same thing. And while I didn't grow up in the rural country, I now live about 15 miles from W. Virginia...most of the folks I talked to suggested the book was mostly dubious conservative tropes about entitlement and associated nonsense.

These types of things seem fairly common now. In a world where people just react to what they see first rather than dig deeper and find the actual truth, it’s just going to keep happening.
