Now we know why Mitch is staying quiet. Trump 100% has dirt on him, Graham etc as they have all benefit from him with shady dealings.
If the Dems had any real testicular fortitude they are set up to crush the GOP. Eliminate the filibuster and pass all sorts of working-class relief. Recast climate change legislation as jobs, jobs, jobs within a massive infrastructure package. Go directly to flyover country and use the power of government to improve the lot of the small/family farmer v giant corporate agriculture. Admit DC and Puerto Rico as states (GOP gonna defend taxation without representation?). Expand the number of Reps in the House. Pass the John Lewis bill and reform voter registration and voting practice in this country. Go big or face losing power for the next 10 years (quite likely to happen).

Meanwhile, stay out of the DOJ. Don't say a word. Just let Merrick Garland do his job. When he does, the grift/corruption will be laid bare for all to see.

I think Tom Cotton is currently holding up his confirmation

And Manchin has said he will not vote to remove/change the filibuster

Cotton cannot indefinitely hold up the confirmation and Garland will be AG. He has bipartisan support - including McConnell and Grassley.

Whatever the POTUS needs to do to get Manchin and Synema to get on board with ending the filibuster - do it.

I know ...he is just being a PITA and keeping his name in the papers for his presidential run. He is the Arkansas Cruz but with less buffoonery.

I think it was on NPR this morning that Simena said voting rights might be thing got her to consider changing the filibuster
