Mad how this actually nearly happened. A sizeable amount of Republicans indeed split their vote due to just how absolutely terrible Loeffler was, but Dem turnout saved the day in both races.

The work of Abrams there can't be understated.
Stacey is the biggest Georgia star this morning if we really pull off this win, her efforts can't go without praised.

Absolutely, though the inability of the GOP to foresee that people would organise to overcome the nonsense voter suppression, and building get out the vote networks all over the place is remarkable.

If Biden doesn’t screw this up, and enough comes out about what Trumps been doing, then 2024 could be a massacre of 1984 proportions.

Last night I went to bed worrying about the GA race, just woke up to the surprise that both Democrats are now leading. Although the race hasn't been called yet for Ossoff it seems the votes that are left to be counted are on the Democratic strongholds.

What Abrams did was nothing short of exceptional. I'm not surprised the Republicans didn't foresee it because it was a monumental effort on her part. The only tools Republicans have are vote suppression and gerrymandering, if elections were just on popular policies and the actual will of the electorate, Democrats would win every time.

To make this massacre a reality the Democrats also need to learn from Stacy Abraham's playbook. She, along with other get out the vote groups, were able to persuade people of color to vote in masses and helped turn this red state into a blue one. We need to replicate such an effort in two years and again in 2024.

what she’s done is amazing, but they should have been able to predict that someone would get that vote out, especially as economic and social issues were making it much more important that they voted

I don't think the Republicans would ever have considered the possibility that their electorate's problems might drive them to vote for someone who said they will address those problems. They thought winning elections was a mix of lying profusely and redrawing maps
