Sheldon Whitehouse (whose entire state of RI would fit inside Harris County, TX, of only-one-ballot-dropoff-box fame) is very deft in outlining the actions of the judicial lobby. I think a lot of Americans would be quite surprised to learn what he has to teach them about the judiciary in politics.

Of course they do...text book GOP.

It's called "Her Majesty's Loyal Opposition" for a reason.

There's a word for someone that's trying to sabotage the country: traitor. It doesn't make it any less treasonous if your political party happens to be out of power at the moment.

For all that they started the ball rolling on the tactics that have led us to this juncture, at least Gingrich, DeLay and Kasich were able to work with Clinton to balance the budget. It's one thing to go after your opponent when they've debatably obstructed justice, and quite another to inflict suffering on the governed in order to make the party in power look bad.

Not surprising, but a pivot to government austerity during a time of pandemic and economic collapse seems like an idiotic strategy, even for republicans. Seems like a better plan would be to try and generate some goodwill with people as they’re going to the polls and maybe at least hold the senate and avoid being tossed out of the drivers seat altogether.

They did it for the 6 years they held congress during Obama’s adminstration

Yes! An excellent, astute, reasoned point.

Biden should probably get on tv and say that covid is no big deal... or suggest people inject bleach... or maybe he should spend some time abusing deceased service members... or commit massive tax avoidance... or even just get on stage and dance to Macho Man...

Get that publicity, Joe!!
Point taken but he needs to be more high profile. That's all.

Not according to every available measure.

The Biden campaign's strategy has basically been to get out of Trump's way and allow him to self-immolate. And so far as we can tell at the moment, it's been working pretty perfectly.

not sure he should.
This is more a referendum on Trump with biden being the most mundane, inoffensive, almost bland candidate that's the prize if you vote no to Trump.
he has 19 days to just keep doing what he's doing, not put his foot in it and deprive Trump of the controversy oxygen he survives on.

It's not a bad sales pitch tbf. There must be a large % of Americans who would love to just go back to a time where they didn't have to think about the President every day.
