When you came over, what made you want to come through legally and through the paths that are set up for citizenship?
I came on the visa waiver program (90 days). I had no intention of staying but my gf and I decided to get married in that window allowing me to change my status.
A bit of a loophole I guess but legal. (still cost about $4 or 5K.)
I had no interest in the headache of illegally staying in this country. At the time I was only responsible for my self.
What really annoys me about your stead fast black and white approach to documentation is that it's not black and white.
The cases that are are easily solved.
The dude from El Salvador who crossed illegally and has been arrested on felony charges should be deported.
The child who came with their parents 20 years ago shouldn't.
If you believe so firmly in no illegal immigration, you should probably stop eating fruit or veg.
You should probably clean the hospital you work in yourself
You should probably go and cut all the lawns in your neighborhood.
Whether you like it or not, illegal immigration is the backbone of America and you benefit greatly from it.
So untill someone has a plan, you should open your eyes and see the countless shades between black and white on this subject.
Do you think poor people should be deported while rich people get to stay?
