I dunno if it's idiotic or just outdated. I get that in a Federal democracy that you don't want a mob rules system. However, there is definitely something broken when the majority of voters are represented by the minority's candidate.

I'd like to see us fix the House. Currently a big disparity in the population to rep ratio between districts.

The electoral college seats are based on number of Senate/House reps so fixing the house ratio would also go a long way to fixing the college.

I agree that the house is messed up in terms of representation

Unrelated to the electoral college, I definitely think DC deserves the same power in congress as Wyoming does (about 125,000 more people in DC). Two senators and 1 house member with full voting rights. It makes no logical sense that over 700,000 people have zero voice in congress.

make DC, PR and Guam states, then it really would be one nation indivisible because 53 is a prime number lol(I'll take my nerd jokes and show myself out)

Puerto Rico has 3.2 million American citizens without representation. If admitted to the Union it would be larger, by population, than the following:

Utah, Iowa, Nevada, Arkansas, Mississippi, Kansas, New Mexico, Nebraska, West Virginia, Idaho, Hawaii, New Hampshire, Maine, Montana, Rhode Island, Delaware, both Dakotas, Alaska, Vermont and Wyoming.

As an aside... the Electoral College needs to be eliminated. Period.

It's outdated. When it was originally put in place it may have shifted the power of votes slightly here and there but now someone in Wyoming has way more power than California. The other thing is ththe system was designed when states still wanted a small federal government that mostly let the states do what they pleased. That isn't what happens anymore. One person, one vote.
