This charming guy was recently in jail for the flagrant safety violations that contributed to an explosion at his coal mine that killed 29 so there is substantial material for the negative ads against him.

Manchin can beat the 2 milk toast Repubs running against him. Blankenship can win though because his brownshirts will turn out and its a midterm election. Grape jerb promoting him DNC!

I guess I shouldn't be surprised that you read the Washington Times.

I'm certainly not surprised you draw this immediate conclusion. Next thing, I'll be a Moonie.

They didn't do the math, the CBO did. I just used the link provided, which was at another news source you would hasten to discredit.

This line of discussion leads to a dead end, you know. We don't need to go there.

I actually meant that in a joking manner. Sorry.

My impression from afar is that Manchin is a talented politician that understands his state really well. To beat him, the GOP will need something, and this guy is another Roy Moore-like gift from God to the DNC. Not nothing, worse than nothing.

The federal government took in a record tax haul in April en route to its biggest-ever monthly budget surplus, the Congressional Budget Office said, as a surging economy left Americans with more money in their paychecks — and this more to pay to Uncle Sam.

All told the government collected $515 billion and spent $297 billion, for a total monthly surplus of $218 billion. That swamped the previous monthly record of $190 billion, set in 2001.

CBO analysts were surprised by the surplus, which was some $40 billion more than they’d guessed at less than a month ago.

Analysts said they’ll have a better idea of what’s behind the surge as more information rolls in, but for now said it looks like individual taxpayers are paying more because they have higher incomes.

Imagine that.
This is good news but I still question the wisdom of such a large corporate tax cut when times are good. I'm in favor of the tax cut but I just wonder if this card should have been played when the economy needed juicing.
I get the feeling that if trump could reduce the federal interest rate to 0, he would.
I also think there isn't enough credit going to individual states efforts to increase minimum wages when it comes to general talk of wage increases.

Honestly I think it's a win win situation for the DNC with candidates like Moore and this guy. A win for Blankenship would be a further stain on the GOP IMO.

Agreed, though we can probably safely assume she wasn't aware of these allegations at that time? If the allegations are valid, he's a slime to be sure, doubly-so due to his hypocritical pursuit of Weinstein.

I'm assuming we'll here something different from her soon.

If I were her, I'd either do that or answer with no reply, whichever is more likely to miss the newsblob. To the Dems, the focus is less attention. The media will provide all the help they need, except for the well-known outlaw sites.

Manchin was was governor when I lived there and he's rather popular. It wouldn't be a landslide but he'd beat either of the 2 milk toast Repubs not in a landslide but pretty handily. He's triangulated so much that there really isn't anything they can attack him on.

Blankenship will have 6 months to unleash the racism while convicing his voters that Killary was responsible for those miners deaths, Obummer regulations turned Parkersburg into cancerville USA, and the Elk River spill was a secret EPA plot. There is enough dumb and oxycodone riddled voters in that state to push him over the top in a general election. He'll have full support from the RNC. Don't forget, Moore got 49% of the vote and only lost because of big time turnout from blacks, not something that WV has much of. Pay no attn to the polls Trumpists think the media is the deep state and wouldn't talk to them anyway.
