West Virginia is probably a bad example for a cast of ridiculous characters supporting the green new deal.

Regardless, I'd benefit from "free" healthcare or college, at least if I ignored the costs. But while pandering and wealth redistribution have their political value, that appeal clearly isn't universal (or else we wouldn't be having this discussion).

There was a video on YouTube that I'll try to find later in rural Kentucky where the population was almost exclusively insured by Obamacare and vote 80% for Trump or something because ??? One guy said "I didn't think they were serious about taking it away." Madness.

It what happens when you take veterans who have undiagnosed PTSD or maybe those who loved shooting their gun in combat and are all about war (not saying they are all like that mind. I am speaking from experience and i know quite a lot of them). Then you give them jobs in law enforcement. Those shows they used to show on the likes of the history channel or discovery about them were cringe worthy. Always treating illegal immigrants like they killed someone or stole all of the gold in fort knox or something.

What started out as a good idea quickly turned out to be a seriously bad idea.

Sorry if you are offended. I do agree i took a wrong step to separate it.

I had two employees both legal aliens who were picker up by ICE. They were subsequently released but not after their doors were broken in.

Given that i know guys both sides of the coin its hard to understand their position. I respect any of the friends and aquaintances that were military but its hard to defend the organisation they work for now.

Only in the last year the shady stuff has started being reported.

These guys choose to work with ICE no one forces them. They may be good folk but why not speak up about the bad stuff we read and hear about

I think the real discussion on this topic is why people in WV, for example, might choose clowns that appeal to their religion/traditionalist ideas (and perhaps buy them off) over the clowns that simply want to buy them off, get their votes and then excoriate them as the worst America has to offer.

If you're asking me if think Bernie et al see rural WV residents as mere votes that they'd like to obtain, rather than people they genuinely want to help/represent, then the answer is "of course." Well you are making some pretty serious allegations. I suspect Trump and the rest of the Republicans treat them as only votes as well...while at the same time convincing those voters that cutting their social security is somehow necessary.

And you're probably right about Trump. The difference being that Republicans probably possess a worldview that more naturally aligns with that of rural Americans. Some question that as well, and I think it's a fair thing to ask. But most people have a limit to their skepticism, ie "well I know AOC feels differently because she says so outright, I can only guess at the duplicity of Trump"
