Well that’s the first time I’ve heard Americans have a longer attention span than the English, certainly a unique take there.
Think it’s hard to break into any news market against long established brands and I don’t even know anyone who watches news programmes anymore.
Also from what I saw it looked very bad.

Funniest thing ive seen on TV, ever! There is no safe space for YOU!

Was hilarious looking at twitter last night and seeing many angry profiles of Union Jack avatars saying they're boycotting GB News for being too woke, cancel culture and wokeness at its finest, better watch out when the snowflakes are angry...

It's amazing how quickly all of that is starting to eat itself. The fundamental emptiness of the right's obsession with it (propped up by 'sensible' citizens) has already started to see it shown for what it is to large numbers - let's hope it continues on this path and the GBNews, Darren Grimes, Tom Harwood, Ben Bradleys will start to fade away

TBF the country is probably lucky it was them who forced Murdoch to drop out, rather than the other way around.

I am sure Rupes wouldn’t have tolerated the state of GBN’s broadcasting, nor would he have infested it with cast-offs and chancers like Brazier and “Dewbs”. Even Wootton would have probably been told to remain under his rock at that rag rather than make a tit of himself on tv.

I think he'd have created a higher quality channel in terms of production but, unless he'd pursued a very different path, then he'd have come unstuck the minute he started casting around for people to fill the airways. You have a choice of either
Elder, once respected journalists who have a veneer of honesty but just come across as a bit bitter and ranty (Neil, McCoy, Stewart)
Clearly not very bright people who have realised a quick buck is to be made either as a direct puppet of Brexity lot (Grimes), or just by being a bell on twitter and print (Wooton etc)
Presenters who aren;'t getting many jobs anymore (Kirsty Gallagher)

and then slight outliers of just being odious, smug, and not very good at much (Andrew Doyle)

I'm not sure where he'd have actually got enough quality or watchable reporters to make it a long lasting channel.

That’s true, but I think he’d probably have done what he did with Fox and hired someone who knew what he was doing to set it up first.

They might have still got Neil, but I think there’d be more actual hacks and a higher standard of influencer (so Clarkson rather than Wootton).

Yeah, now you mention people like Clarkson it does make it clear there are more of those right-wing talking heads with 'respect' than I hoped

Its seems after all the howling about cancel culture wokeness and snowflakes all the sensible citizens of the right ever wanted was to be the victim as well.
