Business is business, politics are politics. People work for businesses and their jobs depend upon doing business. If people only buy from politically associated businesses then the country is completely screwed. The woke twitterati and the childish left need to grow up or else it will be them or the people they supposedly support who will suffer....idiots.....

You're not wrong there Pete. Whether it's Brexit or Covid this Tory Government has made rewarding politically associated allies, family, friends and donors the most important criteria for the UK's business decisions and completely screwed it in the process.

Difference being of course that it's clear they don't even pretend to support anyone or anything bar themselves.

Rubbish. Boycott is the only real power the little guy has in this consumer capitalist society. It's not possible to separate business from politics. The two things are completely entwined.

I would also add that people have been boycotting certain brands/companies/brands for various reasons, including political, since time began. It is, once again, seemingly more prevalent because we hear about it a lot more and some people want to tell everybody else what they are doing and why they are doing it every second of the day.

In some eyes, when a few people on the internet say that they are not frequenting this store or that store, it become this whole big deal and they see millions of people doing the same. I would argue that it is the very small minority that are so extreme in their views to actually go ahead with it for any length of time.....Oh I won't buy Nikes because of this and that....12 months later....ooh these are a nice pair of trainers and cheap so off we go to the checkout.

I boycott a few actors , won't watch a movie with them in.

Never watched Shawshank Redemption because Tim Robbins is in it.

Yep, people like @peteblue just need to stop being so childish and join the real world of the adults rather than the naive land they exist in

If the whole country is made up of gammon racists, why is nobody watching this?

They haven’t the attention span.

Unlike American gammon whom sit glued to Fox News for hours, English gammon have little interest in the “news”, even if it is presented by sharp suited fellow gammon,

Goggle Box and programmes about “dole scroungers”…now there’s a different story.

Well that’s the first time I’ve heard Americans have a longer attention span than the English, certainly a unique take there.
