Had a good game today, mainly because West Brom's midfield aren't exactly mobile, but it shows he can still do a job for us. It's stating the bleeding obvious, but it's down to Koeman to get the call right on which games he starts in and which ones he sits on the bench. He got it wrong last week, but right today.

Very much this. When we're controlling the game and its tempo he's still good. When we have to chase the game or close people down he's struggling a bit. Its understandable as he's one paced and getting on a bit now. So for games like yesterdays he can still play a part. For The Derby and the likes of Spurs away its not wise. I'll be surprised if he plays in the Derby. But lets see.

whole team dropped further back when he came on and we lost our tempo. Not the type of player for any fast paced games, but when teams like west brom dont have willing runners from the midfield, he does ok.

Still hoping a MLS team comes in for him in the summer but we've certainly had good use out of him.

Absolutely no way he can play at Anfield. I'd genuinely rather throw an academy kid in there as long as he can run around lots.
